Incident Details
A Madison Police Sergeant was in the area of Tavernakaya around the time of bar close when he sees a fight in progress.
The Sergeant requests additional officers, and a suspect is detained. When officers go to put handcuffs on the suspect, she begins to fight.
The suspect attempts to bite one officer and is able to punch another. The suspect is eventually taken into custody after being pepper sprayed.
Shabrina James, 27, was arrested for battery to a police officer, two counts of resisting arrest causing injury and disorderly conduct.
