The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on October 16 to 6:00am on October 17, we received 462 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 78
- East: 82
- Midtown: 98
- North: 76
- South: 38
- West: 71
- Other: 19
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Thursday, October 16:
Priority calls only from 4:50pm to 5:20pm and from 8:40pm to 11:30pm due to calls for service.
- 8:33am - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the 200 block of State St where the 34-year-old male suspect was armed with a knife and threatening people. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
- 9:25am - North – Traffic Stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle with no license plates. The 26-year-old male driver was arrested and charged with felon in possession of a firearm and a probation hold.
- 10:40am - Midtown – Check Person: The manager of a business informed officers he had fired an employee and was concerned about the former employee returning and causing a disturbance. Extra patrol was requested.
- 1:46pm - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a parking lot where the 25-year-old female suspect struck the victim multiple times and pulled him by the hair. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
- 1:48pm - City-Wide – Adult Arrested Person: Officers located a 33-year-old female suspect wanted for a previous burglary. The female suspect was arrested and charged with theft by fraud and receiving stolen property. A 31-year-old male suspect was arrested on a warrant and newly charged with resisting.
- 3:42pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a business where a witness was filming a disturbance involving the 57-year-old female suspect. The suspect hit the phone out of the witness's hand and assaulted her. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for disorderly conduct, damage to property, battery and bail jumping. Suspect is at large.
- 4:27pm – East – Conveyance: Officers assisted Journey Mental Health with a chapter 51 return. Officers placed a man into protective custody and transported him to a hospital.
- 7:22pm - East – Check Property: Officers responded to the 4300 block of Nakoosa Trl for reports of possible gunshots and a disturbance. Officers located two fired shell casings but did not observe any damage or signs of injured persons. Officers spoke with witnesses. Investigation continuing.
- 8:23pm - Central – Disturbance Unwanted Person: Officers responded to the Salvation Army where the 26-year-old female suspect was causing a disturbance and was asked not to return. The suspect later returned to the shelter and was arrested and charged with trespassing.
- 8:38pm - East – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers assisted Journey Mental Health with an emergency detention. Officers placed a man into protective custody and transported him to a hospital.
Friday, October 17:
- 2:26am - Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, the 22-year-old male suspect punched and strangled his roommate. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct.
