The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on November 18 to 6:00am on November 19, we received 391 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 54
- East: 94
- Midtown: 62
- North: 87
- South: 27
- West: 60
- Other: 7
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Tuesday, November 18:
Priority calls only from 10:40pm to 1:37am due to calls for service/staffing available.
- 9:58am - East – Runaway Juvenile: A 14-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. The juvenile has a history of running away. Attempt to locate aired. No immediate safety concerns identified. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
- 1:36pm - West – Sexual Assault of a Child: Officers received information reference a sexual assault of a child (minor having sexual relations with an adult). Child Protective Services plugged in. Investigation continuing.
- 3:15pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance between roommates. A verbal argument started over a video game and the argument escalated into a physical disturbance. A 23-year-old male subject punched another subject in the face causing visible injuries. Another roommate attempted to intervene and the subject damaged the roommate’s shirt. The subject was not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 5:45pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: A 27-year-old male subject broke a bedroom screen and crawled into the residence where they used to live. The victim (whom the subject used to live with) confronted the subject. The subject pushed the victim and locked them in a closet for approximately 10 minutes. The subject hid in the residence. Officers located the subject, developed probable cause for his arrest, and transported him to jail on charges of domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, false imprisonment, burglary, and bail jumping (2 counts). The subject was also issued a stalking letter.
- 6:34pm - West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a man chasing kids into a neighborhood center with a gun. Officers quickly determined the “man” was a juvenile. The juvenile was identified as a 15-year-old male subject. The kids that were being chased stated the male subject had some sort of object on him but they were not sure what it was. The juvenile suspect was contacted, along with his parent. No firearms located. The juvenile was released to his parent with a restorative justice referral for disorderly conduct. One of the kids that was being chased was found to be listed as a missing/runaway juvenile. They were returned home.
- 9:22pm - East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (55-year-old male subject). Lifesaving measures were attempted, but were not successful. The subject had numerous health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 10:21pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject. The victim reported being physically assaulted by the suspect who was inside the residence with a child. Officers heard the child screaming/crying. Entry was made to the home where they encountered 2 male subjects and an aggressive dog. OC was deployed which was successful on the dog. The child was reunited with their mother. The primary suspect was uncooperative with officers. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct. The other male subject was cooperative and released.
- 10:28pm - Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of sounds of a disturbance coming from a residence. Entry was made by officers to check the welfare of the occupant(s). Several subjects were contacted/detained. A 67-year-old male subject was found to be intoxicated and had attempted to hit a victim with a glass mug (unsuccessfully). The subject was arrested for attempted domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
- 10:32pm - West – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to a report of a gunshot/bullet into an apartment. No injuries reported. A vehicle was observed fleeing the area. A traffic stop was initiated. Probable cause was developed to search the vehicle which resulted in locating 2 handguns. Two subjects (two 20-year-old females) were detained. Investigation determined that one of the female subjects discharged a firearm in an apartment. The round entered another apartment from the ceiling and landed approximately 2 feet from two subjects who were in bed. The other female subject collected the used firearm and the other firearm and attempted to flee the area. Both subjects arrested. Charges include endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, obstructing, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Wednesday, November 19:
- 12:23am - East – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a subject laying in the middle of E. Washington Ave (Hwy 30). The subject reported being suicidal. The subject was transported to a local hospital where they accepted services voluntarily. Officers disengaged.
- 12:39am - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male subject. The subject attempted to flee when officers arrived on scene but he was apprehended/detained. The subject was not cooperative with officers. The subject spit at officers, threatened the officers, and attempted to kick officers. While in the squad, the subject continued with his behavior by spitting more and kicking. The subject was arrested for resisting, disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping, threats to law enforcement (2 counts), attempted battery to law enforcement, discharge of bodily fluids at law enforcement, disorderly conduct (with a hate crime enhancer), attempted damage to property, and animal cruelty. It was reported that the subject beat a dog at the residence.
- 4:57am - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence after the caller reported their ex-boyfriend (30-year-old male) was throwing rocks at their window. It was also reported that the subject was armed with a gun. The subject fled as officers were arriving in the area. The subject’s vehicle was located unoccupied. Investigation continuing.
