The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on November 19 to 6:00am on November 20, we received 433 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 80
- East: 112
- Midtown: 56
- North: 58
- South: 47
- West: 70
- Other: 10
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Wednesday, November 19:
Priority calls only from 5:49pm to 10:04pm due to calls for service/staffing available.
- 5:31am - North – Stolen Auto: Officers responded to a crash on Lexington Avenue with a report of 3 individuals walking away from the area (not located). The vehicle was found to be stolen.
- 6:38am - East – Armed Robbery: A subject was walking on Thierer Road when a male subject/suspect made contact with them. The suspect offered them drugs. The exchange took place in a vehicle. The suspect took cash from the subject, produced a shotgun, and told the subject to get out of the vehicle. The suspect fled the area.
- 10:57am - Central – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 55-year-old male subject. Entry made to the residence where the subject was located deceased. The subject had a history of health/medical concerns as well as being an alcoholic. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 4:14pm - South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who reported to the caller they felt unsafe and had locked themselves in a bathroom. Officers responded and made contact with the victim and a 20-year-old female subject/suspect. The suspect engaged in a verbal argument with the victim and threw a chair. The suspect continued to be aggressive towards the victim. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. While in the squad, the suspect became uncooperative and stated she has a gun and was going to shoot everyone.
- 6:58pm - South – Crash/Hit-and-Run: An officer was out on the Beltline near Todd Dr for a crash. A tow truck/driver was present. An uninvolved vehicle in the crash grazed the tow truck driver (arm grazed, foot ran over). The driver/vehicle did not stop.
- 7:01pm - South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 56-year-old male subject armed with a knife. Entry was made to the residence where the subject was located/detained. The subject armed himself with a knife (for unknown reasons) and began swinging it in close proximity to others in the home. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed.
- 7:09pm - South – Crash: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash (Fish Hatchery Rd/High St). It was reported that the pedestrian was down in the road with injuries. The driver remained on scene and was cooperative. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was cited for failure to yield to pedestrian in the crosswalk.
Thursday, November 20:
- 12:33am - West – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a 40-year-old female subject trying to access a closed building. The subject was contacted and found to have a history of burglaries/thefts from auto. The subject provided false identification to officers. The subject was arrested for obstructing.
- 2:15am - West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence between two subjects (40-year-old male and 39-year-old female subject). A witness overheard the male subject threaten to shoot the female subject. No contact at the residence. Officers forced entry to check welfare of the subjects. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. The female subject was arrested on a probation/parole warrant and probable cause from 2 separate cases.
- 2:34am - Central – Theft: Caller reported their e-bike valued at over $2,500 was missing/stolen. The caller later reported that a 61-year-old male subject was in possession of the bike. The subject was contacted and arrested for theft.
