The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 02/27/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 02/28/2023, MPD received 371 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (67),East (82), Midtown (49), North (79), South (34), West (37), and Other (23). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Stolen Auto – 11:19 a.m. A vehicle was reported as stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 11:58 a.m. A vehicle was reported as stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 12:34 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver/subject (43-year-old male) was arrested on outstanding warrants.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 1:19 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (73-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

SOUTH: Crash – 2:11 p.m. Officers responded to a crash with injuries being reported (USH 12 EB, east of S Park St). A driver (51-year-old male) was conveyed to a local hospital with injuries and also cited for operating after revocation (3rd offense).

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 5:45 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, battery and felony bail jumping.

NORTH: Crash – 7:12 p.m. Officers responded to a multi-vehicle crash (E. Washington Ave/Continental Ln). No injuries reported. Intersection shut down due to wreckage from the crash. A driver of one of the involved vehicles left the scene in another vehicle. Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Sexual Assault of a Child – 9:01 p.m. Officers responded to a sexual assault of a child investigation. Investigation continuing.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 9:49 p.m. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.

CENTRAL: Check Area – 10:10 p.m. Officers contacted several subjects in a park after it had closed. Marijuana and a loaded handgun were observed/located in a vehicle. A 20-year-old male subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC and going armed with a firearm with controlled substances. An 18-year-old male subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC (party to a crime). Both subjects and another 20-year-old male subject were also all cited for being in the park after hours.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 11:23 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic criminal damage to property and criminal trespassing.

EAST: Traffic Stop – 11:52 p.m. A vehicle involved in multiple retail thefts was observed by officers. Traffic stop attempted and the driver/vehicle fled. The driver/vehicle was later spotted and another traffic stop was attempted. The driver/vehicle ultimately is stopped and the subject (42-year-old male) is arrested on numerous charges – resisting, eluding (2 counts), 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, felony bail jumping (2 counts).  Additional charges also forthcoming.

CENTRAL: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 12:33 a.m. A 16-year-old male was reported as missing/runaway.  Parent and juvenile had been in contact via phone but the juvenile refused to come home. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 12:45 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, trespassing, threats to law enforcement, bail jumping and a probation/parole hold.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 3:27 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject slumped over in a vehicle. Officers located a 30-year-old male subject deceased in a vehicle. Decedent had a history of drug use. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

EAST: Sexual Assault – 3:33 a.m. A subject who had just been booked into jail reported being sexually assaulted earlier in the day by an ex-boyfriend. Investigation continuing.
