The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on April 15 to 6:00am on April 16, we received 507 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 88
  • East: 94
  • Midtown: 73  
  • North: 103
  • South: 52
  • West: 83
  • Other: 14

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, April 15:

Priority calls only from 11:06pm to 12:45am due to calls for service. 

  • 7:23am – North – Runaway Juvenile: A 17-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. 
  • 2:54pm – Midtown – Drug Incident: Officers observed a suspicious vehicle with some drug related history loitering in the area (Grand Canyon Drive). Traffic stop conducted. Drug paraphernalia located in the vehicle. The passenger (20-year-old male) had a federal warrant. He was arrested for the warrant, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, and felony bail jumping. The driver (19-year-old male subject) was arrested on a DOC hold and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.
  • 3:48pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers located a wanted subject (64-year-old female). The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct (3 counts) with an elder enhancer and resisting.
  • 4:27pm – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to Willy Street Coop on Williamson Street for a disturbance involving a 56-year-old male subject. The subject was reported as being aggressive with customers in the parking lot. The subject was contacted and detained. Further investigation found that the subject had created a disturbance at another location as well. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, trespassing, resisting, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • 5:51pm – West – Adult Arrested Person: Officers observed a wanted subject (21-year-male). The subject was contacted and arrested for possession of heroin, felony bail jumping, and retail theft (3 counts).
  • 10:29pm – Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance from an anonymous caller. The caller reported hearing a subject screaming that they could not breathe. Officers arrived in the area and heard sounds of a disturbance. Officers observed a 35-year-old male subject holding a victim down on the ground. The subject was detained. The victim reported to have been punched in the head and choked. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.   
  • 11:56pm – South – Adult Arrested Person: A traffic stop was conducted on a driver/vehicle speeding. The driver (36-year-old male) was found to be on parole. The odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. An Act 79 search led to the discovery of THC individually packaged for distribution. The subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC and a parole hold.

Thursday, April 16:

  • 1:38am – East – Trespass: Officers responded to the men's shelter for a 42-year-old male subject refusing to leave the premises when staff asked him to. Officers arrived and asked the subject to leave. The subject refused. The subject was advised that if he did not leave on his own that he would be arrested for trespassing. The subject told the officers to take him to jail. The subject was arrested for trespassing.
