The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on April 29 to 6:00am on April 30, we received 423 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 75
  • East: 106
  • Midtown: 64  
  • North: 67
  • South: 49
  • West: 50 
  • Other: 12

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, April 29:

Priority calls only from 5:34pm to 6:47pm due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 7:13pm to 8:17pm due to calls for service. 

  • 7:47am – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). The subject hit the victim in the face causing visible injuries. The subject also damaged the victim's property in the residence. An address for the subject was checked without success. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject.  
  • 10:10am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to the 600 block of E. Washington Avenue for a disturbance involving a 41-year-old female subject. MFD also responded. The subject assaulted one of the EMT's. The subject was arrested for battery to health care provider.
  • 11:29am – Midtown – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 38-year-old male subject. The subject and victim were involved in a verbal argument that escalated to a physical altercation. The subject punched the victim in the face. The subject pointed a gun at the victim. The subject chased the victim through neighborhoods (300 block S. Park St). The subject damaged the victim's vehicle during this process as well. The subject was located/detained. No gun was located. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery, threats to injure, and a probation hold.
  • 1:09pm – Midtown – Check Person: Officers responded to the 700 block of Braxton Place for an intoxicated subject (31-year-old male) trying to gain access to the building. The subject was contacted and refused to leave the premises. The subject was arrested for trespassing.
  • 2:32pm – East – Theft: Officers responded to Target for a retail theft suspect (33-year-old female) in the store. The subject was contacted by officers. The subject resisted. The subject was arrested for felony retail theft, resisting, obstruction, misdemeanor bail jumping (3 counts), felony bail jumping (5 counts), and 8 outstanding warrants.
  • 4:52pm – Central – Trespass: Property belonging to a 23-year-old male subject was located in a residence that he does not live at. The subject is currently in jail. An additional charge was added for the subject for trespass to dwelling.
  • 5:49pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence over the size of a smoothie the parent had purchased for their child. The child (juvenile) physically assaulted their parent. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought/approved. A second child (juvenile) also became upset during the situation but was able to be calmed down to be able to remain at home with a safety plan in place.
  • 9:43am – Central – Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 50-year-old female subject. The subject had an outstanding warrant. The subject was arrested for the warrant and issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
  • 10:48pm – North – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver (45-year-old male) was asked to do field sobriety testing. The driver performed poorly on the tests and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (7th offense). He was also charged with 1st offense criminal operating after revocation, criminal failure to install IID, and a parole hold. He was also cited for 2 traffic offenses and open intoxicants.

Thursday, April 30:

  • 3:43am – North – Domestic Disturbance: A 20-year-old male subject went to the residence where he was recently kicked out of. The subject asked to get some personal belongings. A victim met the subject outside to provide him with the items. The victim told the subject they were not welcome at the home. The subject was able to make their way in the house and caused a disturbance. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
