The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on April 3 to 6:00am on April 6 we received 1,153 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 210
- East: 248
- Midtown: 175
- North: 182

- West: 163
- Other: 25
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Friday, April 3:
- 1:10pm – Midtown – Disturbance: An officer observed an active disturbance involving several subjects (N. Spooner St/Regent St). Scene stabilized. The subjects were either cited or given restorative justice referrals based on their age (17-year-old male, 17-year-old male, 17-year-old male, 16-year-old male).
- 4:25pm – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Contact made with the subject. CARES plugged in. The subject was voluntary conveyed to a local facility for treatment.
- 4:35pm – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital/clinic for a subject in need of an emergency detention (ED). ED sought/approved. Placement pending.
- 7:51pm – South – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a loud party. Officers identified a foul odor outside of an apartment unit (not the loud party). Entry made and a 55-year-old male subject was located deceased. The subject had a DNR bracelet. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 8:36pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject living out of their vehicle. The vehicle was found to be registered to a subject who is deceased. The subject (54-year-old male) was found to have an extraditable warrant out of Illinois. Officers made contact with the subject who provided a false name. The subject refused to get out of the vehicle. The subject was arrested on the warrant and for resisting and obstructing.
- 10:09pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: DOC requested MPD locate/arrest a 41-year-old male subject for violating the terms of their supervised release. The subject was arrested on a probation/parole warrant.
- 11pm – West – Adult Arrested Person: A 56-year-old female subject was at a hotel in the lobby, without a reservation to stay. Staff asked the subject to leave and she refused. The subject started to swear at staff and threw a chair. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Saturday, April 4:
Priority calls only from 4:30am to 7:34am due to calls for service.
Priority calls only from 1:26pm to 2:17pm due to calls for service.
- 1:01am – East – Death Investigation: Officers responded, along with MFD, to a report of a 79-year-old female subject who had fallen. Lifesaving measures performed. The subject was pronounced deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 1:13am – East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance. Subjects not cooperative with officers. A 46-year-old male subject has bail conditions to not be around the victim. The subject was arrested for bail jumping. A search of the subject yielded drugs. The subject was transported to jail. Charges – felony bail jumping (3 counts), misdemeanor bail jumping (5 counts), possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- 1:16am – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 38-year-old male subject. The subject pushed the victim to the ground and physically assaulted them. The subject cut the victim on the hand with a fork. The subject stole the victim's vehicle and fled. Areas checked. Subject not located. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject.
- 1:41am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers met with a victim who reported 2 domestic-related incidents involving a 31-year-old male subject. Attempts were made to contact the subject, with no success. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject.
- 12:43pm – West – Battery: Officers responded to a battery complaint involving a 47-year-old male subject. The subject demanded money from the victim, claiming the victim owed him money. The victim did not have the money. The subject struck the victim with a pipe in the knee. The victim sustained visible injuries. The subject fled the area. An officer observed the subject who started to run. The subject was apprehended, arrested, and transported to jail for disorderly conduct, battery while armed, and resisting.
- 12:58pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 47-year-old female subject. The subject was upset at the victim. The subject put their head through a glass picture frame and destroyed two doors. The subject held a knife to her neck and left the residence before officers arrived. Another law enforcement agency came into contact with the subject. MPD responded to take the subject's statement. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic criminal damage to property.
- 2:41pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to sounds of a disturbance coming from an apartment unit. Contact made with two subjects (mother/son). It was learned that the son (adult) acted in rage after losing a video game and destroyed property inside the residence. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought. Final outcome pending.
- 8:46pm – West – Recovered Stolen Auto: An officer observed a stolen vehicle occupied by 3 subjects wearing face masks. Additional resources responded. The vehicle was located unoccupied near Coney Weston Pl/Fairway Dr. Perimeter set up, areas canvassed. 3 subjects were located/detained. A 14-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (driver) and resisting. Two 15-year-old female subjects were arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger) and resisting.
- 8:57pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: A 57-year-old male subject entered the shelter on Zeier Rd intoxicated, loud, and unruly. Staff turned off the lights for quiet time and the subject continued to be loud and disorderly. Staff confronted the subject. The subject threatened the staff with violence. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, misdemeanor bail jumping, and outstanding probable cause.
Sunday, April 5:
- 1:02am – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: An e-scooter was reported stolen earlier in the evening. The e-scooter had an air-tag on it and was plotting on the east side at Motel 6. Officers responded and located a 43-year-old female subject with the e-scooter. The subject claimed they bought the e-scooter earlier in the day. The subject was cited for theft. The e-scooter was returned to its owner.
- 1:55am – Central – Disturbance: A 22-year-old female subject was observed outside a bar throwing punches and causing a disturbance. Officers detained the subject. The subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested for battery, attempted battery to law enforcement, and resisting.
- 2:55am – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
- 8:06am – South – Adult Arrested Person: DOC issued a warrant for a 48-year-old male subject violating the terms of their supervised release. The subject was located, arrested, and transported to jail.
- 9:10am – Midtown – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to a local hospital for a report of a victim who showed up after being stabbed. The victim would not speak with officers. Some information obtained from medical staff. Victim's injuries required stitches. Investigation continuing.
- 10:49am – East – Adult Arrested Person: A 27-year-old male subject has bail conditions to not contact a victim. The subject has been reaching out to the victim recently (calling their workplace, phone calls, showing up at the residence, etc.). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 3:02pm – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 62-year-old male subject walking on the Beltline. The subject was found to have an outstanding warrant. The subject was arrested and transported to jail.
- 4:02pm – West – Disturbance: Caller reported a disturbance took place at a family's residence involving a 39-year-old male subject. The caller, no longer on scene, reported that the subject started to yell about the quality of food being served. The caller (victim) decided to leave the residence with their children and another family member. The subject grabbed the victim by the hair and pulled them through the residence. The victim, their children and the other family member continued to leave. The subject threatened to kill the other family member if they called the police. Once at home, the victim(s) contacted the police. Contact was then made with the subject. He was uncooperative and was yelling obscenities/racial slurs at the officers. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct (2 counts), battery, intimidation of a victim, and resisting.
- 9:02pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a motel for a disturbance involving a 55-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery, and false imprisonment.
- 11:10pm – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.
Monday, April 6:
- 12:04am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
- 12:12am – Midtown – Runaway Juvenile: A 16-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
