The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Number of calls
From 6:00am on August 20 to 6:00am on August 21, we received 437 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 104
- East: 76
- Midtown: 78
- North: 62
- South: 49
- West: 60
- Other: 8
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Thursday, August 20:
Priority calls only from 9:08am to 12:28pm, 4:16pm to 5:05pm, 5:25pm to 7:59pm, and 10:05pm to 11:29pm due to calls for service.
- 4:19am - East – Battery: During an argument, the 24-year-old female suspect punched the victim and held a pair of scissors to her throat. The suspect was arrested and charged with 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, intimidation of a victim, battery and disorderly conduct. (This was a late call that did not make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
- 6:51am - West – Theft from Auto: The victim reported that his handgun was stolen from his unlocked vehicle. The firearm was listed as stolen.
- 8:55am - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, the 19-year-old female suspect struck the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
- 2:47pm - Central – Exposure: Officers responded to Reynolds Park where the 36-year-old male suspect was exposing himself. The suspect was arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior.
- 3:01pm - West – Retail Theft: Officers responded to Menards where asset protection staff observed a repeat retail theft offender. Officers took the 23-year-old female suspect into custody without incident.
- 5:07pm - East – Check Person: The 41-year-old suspect approached officers and began making suicidal and homicidal statements. The suspect provided a false name when officers attempted to identify him. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health and placed the man into protective custody. The man was transported to a hospital. Officers developed probable cause to charge the suspect with resisting and obstructing, threats to LE, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- 6:44pm - North – Assist Police: Maple Bluff PD was involved in the pursuit of a vehicle believed to be driven by a 30-year-old male suspect for whom Madison PD had probable cause to arrest. Madison officers assisted with checking the Atwood Ave area for the suspect vehicle after Maple Bluff terminated the pursuit.
- 10:56pm - Central – Check Person: Officers responded to a residence where a woman had attempted suicide. The woman was transported to a hospital. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health.
- 11:52pm - North – Trespass: Officers responded to a hospital where the 44-year-old male suspect refused to leave after being discharged. The suspect was arrested for trespassing.
Friday, August 21:
- 3:07am - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 53-year-old female suspect yelled at the victim and threatened to kill him. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
