The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on December 1 to 6:00am on December 2, we received 423 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 66
- East: 95
- Midtown: 70
- North: 83
- South: 47
- West: 56
- Other: 6
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Monday, December 1:
Priority calls only from 3:17pm to 4:01pm due to calls for service/staffing available.
- 7:25am – Midtown – Residential Burglary: Caller reported their home was entered overnight via the garage door. A vehicle was stolen but located/recovered. Investigation continuing.
- 7:57am – West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a suicidal subject who became aggressive and assaultive towards another person. The subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. The subject accepted voluntary services. Officers disengaged.
- 1:03pm – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a request for an emergency detention of a subject. The subject was contacted, placed into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation/emergency detention. The subject was placed at a local facility after a medical clearance and officers disengaged.
- 1:38pm – South – Child Abuse: Officers received a report of child abuse. Child Protective Services plugged in. Additional investigation necessary.
- 2:31pm – North – Sexual Assault: Officers responded to a local hospital for a report of a sexual assault. Officers met with the victim who provided a statement. Investigation continuing.
- 2:44pm – South – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a convenience store parking lot for a report of two subjects in a vehicle that were not responsive. The driver (31-year-old male) was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping.
- 2:53pm – North – Sexual Assault: Officers met with a person who wished to report they were sexually assaulted 11-years ago when they were a minor. Suspect known to the person/victim. Additional investigation necessary.
- 3pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to an active disturbance involving a 22-year-old male suspect. A person was pushed and punched by the suspect. Another person heard the disturbance and went to see what was going on. The suspect confronted this person and postured as if he wanted to fight. The suspect was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct, felony criminal damage to property, and burglary (disturbance took place in a vacant unit not belonging to the suspect).
- 11:29pm – Central – Check Person: Officers responded to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital voluntarily. Local mental health resources plugged in. Officers disengaged.
Tuesday, December 2:
Priority calls only from 1:31am to 4:51am due to calls for service/staffing available.
- 12:37am – South – Armed Robbery: Officers responded to an armed robbery with a victim being pistol whipped. The vehicle the suspects were in was observed and a traffic stop was conducted. The vehicle was occupied by 3 suspects (18-year-old male, 17-year-old male, 17-year-old male). The victim and one of the suspects are known to each other. The incident involved a fake drug deal. The victim paid one of the suspects. The suspects took the victim’s phone and keys. All 3 suspects arrested/charged with various crimes (armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, armed robbery party to a crime, and battery.
- 2:02am – Central – Disturbance: A 26-year-old male suspect was blocking the entrance to an apartment complex on State St. The suspect would not move for one of the residents. Officers responded. The suspect refused to move, began to yell and pound his fists together as he walked towards officers. The suspect was arrested for resisting, disorderly conduct, and threats to law enforcement.
