The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on December 24 to 6:00am on December 25, we received 288 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 46
  • East: 71
  • Midtown: 35  
  • North: 53
  • South: 38
  • West: 34
  • Other: 11

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Wednesday, December 24:

Priority calls only from 9:07am to 10:09am due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 7:18pm to 8:18pm due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 10:39pm to 11:17pm due to calls for service.

  • 5:36am - East – Suspicious Person: Caller reported that an unknown male subject opened the door to their vehicle (occupied by two adults and a child) and attempted to get inside. The subject was reported to be naked. The subject did not get in the car fully, stayed outside, and displayed inappropriate behaviors. The subject fled the area on foot. Areas canvassed. Subject not located. Investigation continuing. 
  • 7:18am - East – Death Investigation:  Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (69-year-old male). Lifesaving measures performed. The subject was pronounced deceased. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 12:43pm - East – Crash: Officers responded to a single vehicle vs. pole crash (Sprecher Rd/Commercial Ave). The driver/subject fled from the area per witnesses. Areas checked. Subject not located. Vehicle towed. Investigation continuing. 
  • 1:40pm - East – Strong Armed Robbery: Caller reported teens running from a gas station and shortly thereafter a panic alarm was received. Items from the gas station missing/stolen. Investigation continuing.
  • 1:52pm - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male suspect (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect, who remains at-large. 
  • 2:52pm - West – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 55-year-old male subject. The subject struck the victim with a chair. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery. 
  • 9:15pm - Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 10:09pm - Central – Armed Robbery: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 72-year-old male subject. The subject pulled out a gun on two victims walking on W. Mifflin. The subject demanded the victims give him their belongings. Areas canvassed. Subject matching the description was observed later in the evening on E. Washington Ave. The subject was contacted, detained, and arrested for armed robbery, false imprisonment, and felony bail jumping.

Thursday, December 25:  

  • 2:16am - West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old female subject. The subject struck the victim with a bottle. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
