The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on December 4 to 6:00am on December 5, we received 412 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 69
- East: 87
- Midtown: 61
- North: 66
- South: 51
- West: 66
- Other: 12
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Thursday, December 4:
Priority calls only from 8:42pm to 2:58am due to calls for service.
- 10:03am - Central – Sexual Assault: Officers responded to a local hospital where a patient wished to report a sexual assault. Officers took a report.
- 10:19am - East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a residence to take into custody a 24-year-old male suspect who had outstanding probable cause and a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was conveyed to the jail.
- 2:13pm - North – Adult Arrested Person: DOC requested that officers check a residence for a 38-year-old male suspect. Officers placed the suspect into custody and newly charged him with possession of a controlled substance. The suspect was conveyed to jail.
- 3:36pm - South – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where a 22-year-old male suspect was attempting to harm himself. A family member reported that the suspect had sprayed her with roach spray and bit her. Officers developed probable cause to charge the suspect with domestic battery and disorderly conduct. Journey Mental Health supported an emergency detention. The suspect was placed into protective custody and transported to a hospital.
- 7:56pm - West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where a 37-year-old male suspect punched a 16-year-old male, who then stabbed the older male. The 37-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and physical abuse of a child. The 16-year-old was arrested for 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and transported to JRC.
- 9:24pm - West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 44-year-old male suspect battered the victim. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for attempted strangulation, strangulation, intimidation of a victim, physical abuse to a child, battery and disorderly conduct, all domestic related.
- 9:39pm - North – Disturbance: Several callers to dispatch reported a disturbance occurring in a vehicle. Officers located the 38-year-old male suspect and arrested him for resisting and trespass. Officers were unable to locate the other half of the disturbance.
- 10:16pm - North – Sexual Assault: A victim reported that while on a walk, a vehicle pulled up next to her. The victim reported that the driver exited the vehicle, struck her in the head and forced her into the car. She reported that the unidentified male suspect held a gun to her head and sexually assaulted her. Investigation continuing.
Friday, December 5:
- 12:46am - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a hotel where the 55-year-old male suspect was standing in the doorway to his room in his underwear. The suspect followed a woman who passed by and knocked on her door after she went into her room. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for disorderly conduct. Suspect is at large.
