The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on December 5 to 6:00am on December 8 we received 1,103 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 194
- East: 238
- Midtown: 177
- North: 195
- South: 114
- West: 161
- Other: 24
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Friday, December 5:
- 8:30am – North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a motel for a 32-year-old male suspect banging on doors, threatening staff, and damaging property. The suspect was intoxicated, which violates his bail conditions. The suspect was not cooperative and actively resisted officers. The suspect was arrested for resisting causing soft tissue injury (2 officers sustained injuries), criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and bail jumping.
- 1:31pm – East – Drug Incident: Officers responded to a report of a subject experiencing a drug overdose. Naloxone is administered. The subject was transported to a local hospital. MARI referral provided to the subject, at their request. The subject was left in the care of medical staff after an order-in citation was issued. Officers disengaged.
- 2:40pm – South – Battery: A victim sought medical care after being physically assaulted by a 34-year-old male suspect. Address checked for the suspect without success. Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located.
- 4:12pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: A stolen vehicle was observed and a traffic stop was initiated. Two occupants/suspects (52-year-old male and a 56-year-old female) were detained. Fentanyl was located in the vehicle. Both suspects denied knowledge of the drugs. The male suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent, possession of fentanyl, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger), possession of fentanyl, and felony bail jumping.
- 5:09pm – East – Trespassing: A 42-year-old male suspect was at a business and refused to leave when asked to by staff. Suspect contacted and found to have probable cause for his arrest. Cocaine was located on the suspect. The suspect was arrested for the outstanding probable cause, possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
- 11:15pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 50-year-old female suspect. The victim reported being strangled by the suspect (corroborated by a witness). The suspect was arrested for domestic battery, strangulation, and disorderly conduct.
Saturday, December 6:
Priority calls only from 4:55pm to 7:07pm due to calls for service.

- 5:09am – Central – Domestic Disturbance: A 53-year-old male suspect called to turn himself in for a disturbance that occurred. Officers made contact with the suspect and the victim. The victim denied any altercation took place. Probable cause not developed and officers disengaged. Officers responded later in the morning to a weapons offense where the victim reported being attached with a scissors and punched by the suspect. The victim sustained visible injuries. The suspect was arrested for domestic physical abuse to an elder, disorderly conduct while armed, and criminal damage to property.
- 5:45am – City-Wide – Adult Arrested Persons: Officers were dispatched to 6 different attempt to locate requests from the DOC for probation/parole warrants. 4 suspects were located, taken into custody, and transported to jail. 2 remain at-large.
- 8:45am – East – Hit-and-Run: Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash at USH 51 at Buckeye Road. Two occupants in the vehicle that was struck were taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation/treatment (no serious injuries sustained). Investigation continuing.
- 11:52am – Midtown – Check Person: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. The subject was placed at a local hospital and officers disengaged.
- 4:43pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Caller reported a disturbance occurred involving a 46-year-old male suspect. The caller stated the suspect had a gun. Contact made with the suspect in the apartment parking lot. Two separate disturbances were found to have occurred over several days. The caller/victim was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation of injuries. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct (2 counts), domestic battery (2 counts), felony domestic intimidation of a victim, and domestic strangulation.
- 4:55pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers were requested to locate/arrest a 39-year-old male suspect/parolee. The suspect was contacted and taken into custody. The suspect is on parole for 1st degree intentional homicide.
- 7:47pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to sounds of screaming and a disturbance at an apartment complex. Officers knocked at the unit identified as a subject was heard crying. There was no answer and the sounds went silent. Due to history at the unit, officers made entry to check the welfare of any occupants. Two subjects located/contacted. A 26-year-old male suspect was ultimately arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and resisting.
- 11:01pm – East – Missing Adult: A 56-year-old male subject from a group home was reported missing. The subject was located safe and returned home.
Sunday, December 7:
Priority calls only from 6:58pm to 7:25pm due to calls for service.
- 7:23am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 35-year-old male suspect was arrested last night reference a domestic incident. He was upset about being arrested and started to call 911 to express his displeasure about the arrest. The suspect was advised that 911 was for emergencies only and he was provided the non-emergency phone number. The suspect continued to call 911. Officers made in-person contact with the suspect who was arrested for unlawful use of an emergency telephone number.
- 11:50am – East – Trespass: Officers responded to a business for a trespassing complaint involving a 66-year-old female suspect. The suspect had outstanding probable cause for bail jumping and retail theft. After a medical clearance, the suspect was conveyed to jail.
- 1:39pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and resisting.
- 6:55pm – East – Crash: Officers responded to a rollover crash on the Beltline (at Stoughton Rd). No reported injuries.
- 9:04pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 61-year-old male suspect. The victim reported being punched in the face numerous times and also losing consciousness. The victim was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. The suspect was arrested for domestic substantial battery, domestic disorderly conduct, and resisting.
- 10:24pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old female suspect. The suspect hit the victim in the face. The victim had visible injuries. The suspect was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, and a probation/parole hold.
Monday, December 8:
- 1:49am – South – Sexual Assault: Fitchburg PD were flagged down by a subject/victim who reported they had been sexually assaulted by a 27-year-old male suspect. The suspect was on scene and was detained. The sexual assault was identified as taking place in the City of Madison, so MPD was called. The victim was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Investigation continuing.
