The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on February 17 to 6:00am on February 18 we received 471 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 73 
  • East: 96
  • Midtown: 96  
  • North: 79
  • South: 57
  • West: 65
  • Other: 5

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Tuesday, February 17:

Priority calls only from 8:59pm to 10:37pm due to calls for service. 

  • 8:17am – Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a subject (24-year-old male) down at his home. The subject was found to be deceased upon arrival of officers (self-inflicted gunshot wound). Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified. 
  • 8:38am – Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 67-year-old male). Maintenance let officers into the unit to check on the subject. The subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.  
  • 10:30am – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who family had not heard from in awhile. The subject was contacted and there were no concerns.  
  • 1:31pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: A wanted subject (36-year-old male) was taken into custody. Charges include 2nd degree reckless endangering safety and disorderly conduct while armed.  
  • 1:39pm – East – Drug Incident: Officers responded to a report of two subjects observed to be using drugs outside. Contact made with two subjects. A 32-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 44-year-old male subject was transported to a local hospital due to medical complaints. He will be charged with carrying a concealed weapon.  
  • 3:43pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence involving the caller’s son who she reported to be having a mental health crisis. The subject was contacted, taken into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention evaluation (supported). Placement pending. Probable cause developed to charge the subject with domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 3:55pm – East – Runaway Juvenile: A 14-year-old male juvenile was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.  

Wednesday, February 18:

Priority calls only from 2:32am to 5:20am due to calls for service.  

  • 12:05am – South – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Contact made with the subject who was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Final outcome pending.
  • 1:53am – North – Check Area: Officers responded to the 500 block of Northport Drive for numerous reports of shots fired. Casings located. Vehicles located with damage. Video surveillance shows several subjects, gunfire, and possibly one subject struck. No subjects showed up at local hospitals. Investigation continuing.  
  • 2:08am – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 52-year-old male subject. The subject armed himself with a knife but did not threaten anyone with it. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and felony bail jumping.
