The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on February 27 to 6:00am on March 2 we received 1,346 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 253
  • East: 284
  • Midtown: 220   
  • North: 211
  • South: 153
  • West: 208
  • Other: 17

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Friday, February 27:

  • 4:55am – North – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (28-year-old female). The subject also called 911 stating she needed to turn herself in. Contact was made with the subject who reported to taking several pills in an attempt to kill herself. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Local mental health resources plugged in. At the hospital, the subject threatened officers and tried to kick hospital staff. Additional officers had to respond. The subject was arrested for threats to law enforcement and felony bail jumping (2 counts).
  • 12:14pm – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 23-year-old female subject. Several disturbances were reported that have occurred over the last year.  Probable cause developed to charge the subject.
  • 1:42pm – East – Runaway Juvenile: A 16-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. The juvenile has a history of running away. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was entered as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. 
  • 4:12pm – North – Traffic Arrest: A traffic stop was conducted (35-year-old female driver). Reasonable suspicion led to K9 responding and a positive indication on the vehicle. Search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia and numerous pills not in labeled prescription bottles. The driver was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping. 
  • 11:39pm – West – Adult Arrested Person: A 21-year-old male subject, involved in a domestic stalking incident last year, was called in as being present at a bar in Janesville. MPD coordinated with the Rock County Sheriff’s Department to take the subject into custody. MPD/Rock County met to transfer custody of the subject. The subject was booked into jail for domestic stalking.
  • 11:40pm – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

Saturday, February 28:

Priority calls only from 3:07am to 4:09am due to calls for service. 

Priority calls only from 9:12am to 9:50am due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 6:16pm to 6:54pm due to calls for service. 

  • 12:10am – North – Fight Call: An officer called out a large disturbance in the 300 block of N. Henry St.  A 23-year-old female subject and a 22-year-old female subject were cited for disorderly conduct and resisting. Two other 22-year-old female subjects were arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting causing soft tissue injury. 
  • 8:28am – East – Attempt to Locate: Probation/Parole requested officers locate/arrested a wanted subject (43-year-old male). The subject was located and arrested. 
  • 9:06am – North – Adult Arrested Person: A 50-year-old male subject was called in for exposing himself. The subject was contacted and arrested for lewd/lascivious behavior and possession of drug paraphernalia. 
  • 3:21pm – Central – Trespass: Officers responded to the library for a trespassing complaint involving a 48-year-old male subject. The subject was transported to jail and issued a municipal citation for trespassing.
  • 5:14pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: A 23-year-old female subject was arrested for violating a no-contact order. 
  • 9:11pm – Midtown/West – Theft: 3 businesses reported 3 female subjects entered their businesses and stole items (purse, cash, car keys, credit cards, backpack).
  • 11:15pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Two subjects contacted in a vehicle for trespassing. A 25-year-old male subject was armed and intoxicated. The subject was arrested for armed while intoxicated, carrying a concealed weapon, and obstructing.

Sunday, March 1:

Priority calls only from 5:29pm to 6:49pm due to calls for service. 

  • 1:51am – Central – Disturbance: An officer observed a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject and an employee at a bar. Officers went to detain the subject, when he actively resisted. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer (2 counts), disorderly conduct, resisting, and an outstanding warrant. 
  • 4:31am – North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 55-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery. 
  • 8:24am – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a business for a disturbance involving a 43-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. 
  • 10:42am – Central – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (37-year-old female). Lifesaving measures were performed, but they were not successful. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Death appears to be a suicide. Nothing suspicious identified. 
  • 11:17am – North – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 71-year-old male subject. The subject was located deceased at his residence. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified. 
  • 11:46am – East – Juvenile Arrest: A 15-year-old male subject was arrested and conveyed to the Juvenile Reception Center for disorderly conduct and battery. 
  • 1:18pm – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 36-year-old female subject who was acting strange in the lobby of a hotel. The subject was contacted, placed into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital. The subject was subsequently arrested and conveyed to jail for resisting and felony bail jumping (3 counts).
  • 2:17pm – North – Sexual Assault: A victim reported being sexually assaulted. Investigation continuing.
  • 5:11pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a 911 call with the caller stating they could not talk. Officers arrived at the residence and observed a 28-year-old male subject running out of the residence. The caller reported a disturbance occurred between the two of them which involved the subject choking the victim. The subject was taken into custody and charged with domestic disorderly conduct, battery, strangulation, resisting, and a probation/parole hold.
  • 8:55pm – East – Runaway Juvenile: A 16-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. The juvenile was tracked to Milwaukee. A request was sent to Milwaukee PD to attempt to locate the juvenile, which they were able to do successfully.  Officers met Milwaukee PD to take custody of the juvenile and return her home.

Monday, March 2:

  • 12:13am – South – Adult Arrested Person: A 41-year-old male subject interjected himself into a traffic stop that he had no involvement in. The subject was screaming profanities and racial slurs. The subject was in the 900 block of W. Badger Rd which is against his bail conditions. The subject resisted officers. The subject threatened to decapitate two officers. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, threats to law enforcement, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping.
  • 1:03am – West – Check Area: Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired (7100 block of Flower Lane). Casings located. No reports of injuries or property damage at this time.
