The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on February 4 to 6:00am on February 5, we received 459 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 49
- East: 90
- Midtown: 84
- North: 92
- South: 46
- West: 86
- Other: 12
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Wednesday, February 4:
- 7am - Central – Adult Arrested Person: A search warrant was executed at a residence of a 58-year-old male subject who was receiving explicit images of a juvenile from another state. SWAT knocked on the door and the subject was observed running about the residence through a window. Officers made entry and found the subject in the process of microwaving his tablet and cell phone. The subject invoked their right to an attorney. The subject was arrested on child pornography and sexual exploitation of a minor. Investigation continuing.
- 8:30am - North – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Entry made to the residence and the subject was located conscious but non-responsive. The subject placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. Local mental health resources plugged in. The subject was medically admitted and officers disengaged.
- 10:04am - West – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers were requested to locate a subject in need of a Chapter 51 return. The subject was contacted and transported to a local facility for placement.
- 12:19pm - South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a damage to property complaint. Two vehicles had their windows smashed and tires deflated. A 35-year-old male subject was identified and contacted. The subject was arrested for criminal damage to property (2 counts).
- 6:02pm - East – Battery: Officers responded to a local hospital for two victims reporting a battery involving a 26-year-old female subject. The subject pushed the victims and punched them. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
- 6:07pm - Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a 40-year-old male subject lighting things on fire (100 block of State St). The subject was contacted and detained. The subject was in possession of a lighter and a small blow torch. The subject was arrested for negligent handling of burning materials, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of meth.
- 6:23pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to Festival Foods (800 block of E. Washington Ave) for a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject. The subject was yelling at staff and other customers. Staff asked the subject to leave and he refused. The subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.
- 10:53pm - South – Adult Arrested Person: A 24-year-old male subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant and multiple charges for which he had probable cause for his arrest.
Thursday, February 5:
- 12:23am - East – Drug Incident Overdose: Officers responded to a motel (East Springs Dr) for a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital and admitted. A second subject on scene (55-year-old male) was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Drug paraphernalia located in the room and taken for destruction.
- 1:22am - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 25-year-old female subject. Victim reported being repeatedly punched in the face by the subject. Local mental health resources consulted. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
- 2:56am - West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a hotel (Excelsior Dr) for a disturbance involving a 29-year-old female subject. The subject was reported to be intoxicated, swearing at staff, in an argument with a male subject, and refusing to leave the premises. The subject was contacted by officers and given the opportunity to leave but she refused. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting. The subject was also cited for trespassing.
