The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Number of calls
From 6:00am on February 5 to 6:00am on February 6, we received 451 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 71
- East: 97
- Midtown: 82
- North: 75
- South: 48
- West: 70
- Other: 8
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Thursday, February 5:
Priority calls only from 8:20am to 9:05am and from 5:30pm to 8:00pm due to calls for service.
- 7:43am - South – Traffic Crash: Officers responded to the intersection of S Park St and Burr Oak Ln where a pedestrian was crossing the street using the flashing crosswalk signal when a motorist struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. Investigation continuing.
- 8:13am - East – Check Person: Officers responded to S Stoughton Rd near the beltline where a man was walking in traffic. Officers determined he was under the influence of illegal drugs, placed him into protective custody and transported him to a hospital.
- 9:35am - Midtown – Check Person: Officers responded to a residence where a man was threatening to harm family members. CARES responded and supported an emergency detention. The man was conveyed to a hospital.
- 10:01am - Central – Battery: Officers responded to Walgreens where the 27-year-old male suspect was causing a disturbance. When asked to leave, the suspect knocked the victim's phone out of his hand and punched the victim in the face. The suspect pushed and threatened to harm another victim. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for battery, disorderly conduct, intimidation of a victim and resisting arrest. Suspect is at large.
- 11:24am - East – Missing Adult: Officers took a report of a 61-year-old woman who was missing. An ATL was aired and the woman was listed as missing in the database.
- 3:44pm - East – Threats Complaint: Officers responded to Hy-Vee where the 46-year-old male suspect was threatening employees and armed himself with a knife. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed and threats to LE.
- 3:54pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the Beacon where the 47-year-old male suspect raised his fist during an argument with another patron. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and trespass.
- 4:00pm - Midtown – Disturbance: Officers responded to a laundromat where the 49-year-old male suspect falsely claimed he had orders from ICE to prevent the victim from entering. The suspect grabbed the victim and her phone. The suspect was arrested and charged with battery and disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer.
- 5:35pm - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 42-year-old male suspect battered the victim and fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for substantial battery and disorderly conduct. Suspect is at large.
- 11:35pm - West – Assist Fire: Officers assisted MFD at Kwik Trip where firefighters were handling a structure fire.
- 11:37pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the Social Justice Center for a report of yelling and screaming and open drug use in the area. A 56-year-old male suspect approached an officer holding a knife. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed and possession of fentanyl.
Friday, February 6:
- 5:10am - North – Disturbance: A caller to dispatch reported that her husband had gone out to confront the 35-year-old male suspect who was trying to break into a neighbor's car. The caller reported that the suspect had tazed her husband before fleeing on foot. The suspect was arrested and charged with substantial battery and disorderly conduct.
