The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on January 1 to 6:00am on January 2, we received 269 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 40
  • East: 69
  • Midtown: 42
  • North: 51
  • South: 28
  • West: 29
  • Other: 10

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Thursday, January 1:

  • 6:21am - South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 37-year-old female suspect scratched, struck and bit the victim during an argument. The suspect was arrested and charged with battery.
  • 7:33am - Midtown – Adult Arrest Warrant: Officers made contact with a 36-year-old male who was suicidal. Officers determined he had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
  • 2:35pm - Midtown – Adult Arrest Warrant: DOC requested that officers arrest a 42-year-old female suspect for a probation violation. Officers placed the suspect into custody without incident and conveyed her to the jail.
  • 3:18pm - North – Exposure: A caller to dispatch reported that the 40-year-old male suspect was engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior. The suspect was arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious, obstructing, and possession of methamphetamine.
  • 4:28pm - East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence where a 27-year-old man was found deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene. A 35-year-old family member on scene was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, discharging bodily fluids, and resisting.
  • 7:03pm - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to Motel 6 for a disturbance. A 38-year-old male who was not involved in the disturbance interfered with the investigation and was arrested and charged with obstructing, threats to LE, and possession of open intoxicants.
  • 7:04pm - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to the Echo Suites where the 48-year-old male suspect struck the victim several times during two incidents. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic substantial battery, domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
  • 8:44pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 45-year-old female suspect punched the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
  • 11:51pm - Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 21-year-old male suspect bit and kicked the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct, damage to property, and intimidation of a victim.
