Number of calls
From 6:00am on January 26 to 6:00am on January 27, we received 404 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 60
- East: 92
- Midtown: 75
- North: 80
- South: 37
- West: 54
- Other: 6
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Monday, January 26:
Priority calls only from 2:12 pm to 4:43pm due to calls for service.
- 11:01am - Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. Transport to Winnebago pending.
- 12:28pm - Central – Check Area: Caller reported hearing a back door to their home open and slam shut (when no one else should have been home). No other details provided at this time.
- 1:50pm - South – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a car vs. pedestrian crash (Fish Hatchery/S. Park St). A 53-year-old male driver drifted into an adjacent lane, nearly striking an off-duty deputy before losing control of the vehicle which ricocheted off a power pole, went up on the sidewalk and struck a subject who was shoveling. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver refused field sobriety tests and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence causing injury. Driver injured as well. MG&E responded to assess the power pole.
- 2:30pm - Central – Disturbance: A 30-year-old male subject was confronted by staff at a residential building he was in but not residing at. The subject reached towards his waistband and was yelling at staff. A metal object was observed in the subject’s hand. The subject attempted to flee when officers arrived, but he was apprehended. The subject was not cooperative with officers. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trespassing.
- 4:05pm - East – Adult Arrested Person: A 35-year-old male subject was riding a Metro bus when he was observed masturbating. He also made inappropriate comments to a female rider. The subject was arrested for lewd/lascivious behavior (repeater), disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
- 9:28pm - East – Disturbance: A 56-year-old male subject showed up at the men’s shelter intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer.
- 11:17pm - West – Mental Health Conveyance: A subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. An emergency detention was sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago.
Tuesday, January 27:
- 12:26am - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to the men’s shelter for a disturbance between two subjects (66-year-old male and 31-year-old male). Both subjects arrested for disorderly conduct.
