The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on January 27 to 6:00am on January 28, we received 377 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 45
- East: 84
- Midtown: 58
- North: 79
- South: 45
- West: 58
- Other: 8
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Tuesday, January 27:
- 6:50am - Midtown – Death Investigation: Caretaker located their client (73-year-old male subject) deceased. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 11:02am - Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention (sought/approved). The subject was transported to Winnebago.
- 2:14pm - West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a retail theft in progress at Target involving a 27-year-old male subject. The subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested for retail theft, disorderly conduct, and resisting.
- 4:30pm - North – Assist Outside Agency: Milwaukee PD requested MPD assistance (along with US Marshalls) to locate/apprehend a wanted subject. MPD provided perimeter support only. The subject was located on Trailsway and taken into custody by Milwaukee PD.
- 10:32pm - Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 58-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct (2 counts), resisting, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
Wednesday, January 28:
- 12:42am - West – Crash: Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash on the Beltline involving several vehicles. The suspect driver/vehicle fled. Addresses were located for the registered owner of the suspect vehicle. Officers responded to the addresses. A witness reported seeing a 26-year-old male subject trying to kick in the door of the Tree Lane apartment complex. A broken window was located by officers. The subject was located passed out on the floor in the hallway. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Additional follow-up related to the crash necessary for possible additional charges.
- 1:54am - Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 36-year-old male subject evaded officers in an earlier disturbance. Probation/Parole put a warrant out for the subject. The subject’s location was provided to officers from the DOC as the subject has a GPS monitor. The subject was taken into custody.
