The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on January 7 to 6:00am on January 8, we received 389 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 53
  • East: 93
  • Midtown: 59  
  • North: 66
  • South: 49
  • West: 56
  • Other: 13

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, January 7:

  • 9:08am - East – Trespass: Officers responded to a trespassing complaint involving a 42-year-old female subject (banned from the property). The subject resisted officers and was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject was arrested for resisting and possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject was cited for trespassing.  
  • 2:40pm - Central – Theft from Auto: Officers responded to a report of a theft from auto involving a 61-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for theft.
  • 6:58pm - East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a 30-year-old male subject attempting to enter a residence that he has no connection to. The subject was contacted, arrested, and transported to jail to post on a trespassing citation.
  • 8:52pm - North – Adult Arrested Person: Traffic stop conducted on a vehicle registered to a wanted subject (27-year-old male). The subject was taken into custody for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety.
  • 10:47pm - North – Adult Arrested Person: Traffic stop conducted on a vehicle registered to a wanted subject (34-year-old male). The subject was arrested for domestic burglary and 2nd degree sexual assault.

Thursday, January 8:

  • 12:31am - Midtown – Check Area: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a business parking lot. Contact made with a 24-year-old male subject. Vehicle/subject fled from officers the day prior (vehicle stolen). The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent.
  • 12:41am - East – Traffic Stop: A suspicious vehicle was observed by officers (registered to a revoked driver). Traffic stop attempted. The driver/vehicle fled. Monona PD observed the vehicle and pursued it. 3 subjects ended up fleeing from the vehicle on foot. All 3 subjects taken into custody. A 29-year-old male subject was arrested for resisting, fleeing, and drug-related charges (THC and cocaine located in the vehicle). A 32-year-old male subject was arrested on drug-related charges, resisting, and a DOC hold. A 34-year-old male subject was arrested for eluding, drug-related charges, and a DOC hold.
