The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on January 8 to 6:00am on January 9, we received 426 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 66
  • East: 92
  • Midtown: 62
  • North: 77
  • South: 63
  • West: 55
  • Other: 11

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Thursday, January 8:

  • 9:17am - Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to the courthouse where the 55-year-old male suspect was causing a disturbance. The suspect had outstanding probable cause for his arrest. He was taken into custody and newly charged with multiple counts of felony bail jumping.
  • 11:16am - North – Exposure: A caller to dispatch reported seeing an unidentified male suspect walking on N Sixth St while exposing himself and engaging in inappropriate behavior. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. Suspect is at large.
  • 11:36am - Midtown – Check Person: Journey Mental Health requested that officers stand by while crisis workers made contact with a reportedly suicidal man. Officers placed the man into protective custody and conveyed him to a hospital. begin here
  • 1:45pm - Midtown – Trespass: Officers responded to Target where the 69-year-old male suspect was present despite being banned. The suspect was arrested and cited for trespassing.
  • 4:30pm - North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a gas station where the 54-year-old male suspect was following a customer around the store making inappropriate comments. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and trespass.
  • 5:31pm - South – Disturbance: Officers responded to the area of Rimrock Rd and the beltline where the 33-year-old male suspect had run out of gas. The suspect was yelling at another driver and threatening him. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
  • 10:01pm - South – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence where a 47-year-old man was found deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.

Friday, January 9:

  • 12:39am - Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers made contact with a 35-year-old male suspect who was yelling at and following the victim. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 1:43am - East – Strong Arm Robbery: The victim reported that a 22-year-old male suspect and 31-year-old male suspect stole money from him. The 31-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with robbery. The 22-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of heroin, robbery and possession with intent cocaine.
