The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on July 14 to 6:00am on July 15, we received 519 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 100
- East: 118
- Midtown: 86
- North: 68
- South: 60
- West: 78
- Other: 9
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Tuesday, July 14:
Priority calls only from 11:42am to 12:30pm due to calls for service.
7:59am – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers met with a victim who reported being threatened by a 28-year-old male subject. Probable cause was developed to charge the subject. Attempts were made to locate the subject without success.
- 8am – Central – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a suicidal subject who was actively harming themselves. CARES also responded. The subject was transported to a local mental health facility. Officers disengaged.
- 8:40am – South – Adult Arrested Person: DOC requested MPD locate/arrest their client (45-year-old male) for violating the terms of their supervision. The subject was located, arrested, and transported to jail.
- 11:19am – West – Check Person: Officers responded to a subject who harmed themselves. The subject was cooperative and was transported to a local hospital. Local mental health provider contacted. Subject admitted to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Final outcome pending.
- 12:38pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 48-year-old male subject. EMS was initially on scene with the subject who became combative. The subject obtained a medical clearance and was transported to jail for disorderly conduct and a probation/parole hold.
- 6:28pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to report of an unwanted person at a residence. Contact made with two subjects, one of which has bail conditions to not be around the other. A disturbance was reported to have occurred between the two subjects. A 45-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and bail jumping.
- 7:12pm – Midtown – Assist EMS: MFD requested officers respond to their location for a 29-year-old male subject who was combative and possibly under the influence of drugs. The subject was contacted/detained. The subject resisted officers. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Probable cause developed to charge the subject with domestic disorderly conduct (2 counts) and resisting. The subject was booked into jail.
- 7:27pm – East – Check Person: Officers responded to a caller screaming that they were going to kill themselves. The subject was located and taken into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. The subject was transported to Winnebago.
- 9:13pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers met with a victim who disclosed a disturbance had taken place involving a 34-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic criminal damage to property.
- 9:58am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers met with a victim who reported a 33-year-old male subject, whom they have a restraining order on, made contact with them and stated they did something to their vehicle. The subject at some point climbed into the trunk of the victim's vehicle. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic criminal damage to property, and violation of a restraining order.
- 11:43pm – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 17-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
- 11:52pm – South – Adult Arrested Person: An officer made contact with a 56-year-old male subject in a vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was observed in the vehicle. The subject got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. K9 tracked/apprehended the subject. The subject was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphrenia, and outstanding warrants.
