The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00am on July 3 to 6:00am on July 6 we received 1,518 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Friday, July 3:
Priority calls only from 6:53am to 9:45am due to calls for service.
Priority calls only from 10:11am to 1:15pm due to calls for service.
- 5:50am – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (28-year-old female). Evidence of drug use present. Medical Examiner's office responded. Family responded/CPS contacted as the decedent has several children. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 6:23am – South – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who was on the bike path near Bram and Koster. It was reported that the subject was on the ground with a pocketknife and had cut himself. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and a mental health evaluation. Family contacted. The subject has non-life threatening injuries. The subject was admitted to the hospital and left in the care of medical staff.
- 8:45am – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male subject. The subject threw a phone at the victim, missing them. The subject then strangled the victim. The victim reported previous assaults by the subject. The subject was arrested for domestic strangulation, domestic battery, and domestic disorderly conduct.
- 1:34pm – Central – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who was hearing voices and making threatening statements. The subject was contacted and voluntarily went to a local hospital for an evaluation. This turned into an emergency detention request. Final outcome pending.
- 5:19pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male subject. The subject struck the victim in the face, leaving a visible mark. The subject left the residence before officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 5:23pm – West – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen from the street outside of a residence. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
- 10:54pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for some sort of disturbance with children present and a gun being reported as being involved. A 30-year-old male subject was identified as being involved and got into argument with several other people. The subject lifted his shirt to display a firearm in their waistband. The subject removed the gun and pointed it at another person's head. The subject fled the residence. The subject was located by officers and detained. The gun was recovered and found to be stolen. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, domestic disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct while armed, and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
Saturday, July 4:

- 12:09am – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: A 29-year-old male subject was checked out at a local hospital and refused to leave the premises when he was discharged. Officers attempted to get the subject to leave on his own but he continued to refuse. The subject was arrested for trespass to a medical facility, resisting, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
- 3:07am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 39-year-old male subject was driving very fast on State Street on an e-scooter. Officers stopped the subject with the plan to educate him on the safety issues. The subject began arguing with officers and refused to leave the area when officers instructed him to. The subject began to yell racial slurs at officers. Officers attempted to de-escalate the subject but he continued to yell and then threaten officers. The subject was arrested for threats to law enforcement and misdemeanor bail jumping.
- 4:13am – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject put his hands on the victim which caused them pain. The disturbance took place in numerous places, including a vehicle. The subject was contacted and arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping (3 counts).
- 6:20am – North – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a subject on the Hwy 30 bridge over E. Washington dangling over. The subject reported they wanted to watch the sun rise. Officers are familiar with the subject who has mental health issues. The subject came off the bridge and was placed into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was placed at a local facility and officers disengaged.
- 1:20pm – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a business for a 51-year-old male subject causing a disturbance. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
- 3:18pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A wanted subject (62-year-old male) was observed on State Street. The subject was arrested for felony theft (2 counts) and misdemeanor bail jumping.
- 6:28pm – West – Arrested Juveniles: Officers contacted a group of juveniles and identified a 15-year-old male subject in the group who was wanted reference a previous weapons offense case. He was arrested for that case and also for disorderly conduct. A second juvenile (16-year-old male) was disorderly conduct.
- 8:53pm – West – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to a report of a subject shot. A victim was located with non-life threatening injuries. The subject was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Investigation continuing.
- 10:30pm – Midtown – Missing Adult: An adult with dementia was reported as missing. Areas canvassed. Subject located lost/safe on a bike path. Subject returned home.
Sunday, July 5:

- 5:13am – Central – Residential Burglary: Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary. A 45-year-old female subject displayed a firearm. The subject entered the home and was banging on doors threatening to kick them in. The subject was arrested for burglary, disorderly conduct while armed, and disorderly conduct (4 counts).
- 5:22am – North – Residential Burglary: Officers responded to a residential burglary with the homeowner not home. Officers arrived on scene and located/detained a 29-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for burglary, possession of burglarious tools, criminal damage to property, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
- 7:58am – Central – Runaway Juvenile: A 16-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Areas checked. Phone calls attempted. The subject was located and returned home.
- 2:02pm – Central – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
- 3:18pm – North – Traffic Arrest: A traffic stop was conducted. Act 79 search conducted which yielded a concealed knife. A 41-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of a concealed knife and a parole hold.
- 5:02pm – West – Crash: Officers responded to a single vehicle rollover crash (EB Beltline/S. Gammon Rd). The two occupants of the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries. Light pole knocked down. Traffic/Engineering notified. Traffic impacted.
- 5:02pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a disturbance that involved several subjects. A 66-year-old male subject physically assaulted another subject (68-year-old male), who was wanted by police for a separate incident. Both subjects contacted and arrested. The 66-year-old was arrested for substantial battery and disorderly conduct. The other subject was arrested for 2nd degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct.
- 10:57pm – East – Check Area: Numerous reports of shots fired called in. Two homes were confirmed to have been struck by gunfire. No injures reported. Rosemary Ave/Rethke area. A parked vehicle was also struck – no one inside. Areas canvassed. Investigation continuing.
Monday, July 6:
- 12:10am – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 48-year-old female subject and a 43-year-old female subject. The 43-year-old was cited for disorderly conduct. The other subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation violation.
- 12:46am – Central – Juvenile Complaint: Officers observed large crowds of juveniles being disorderly and causing issues with traffic near State St/Gilman. Officers monitored the area. Two juveniles (14-year-old female and 15-year-old female) were observed entering a business, quickly leave, and running away screaming. Subjects contacted/detained. Both provided with restorative justice referrals for disorderly conduct and obstructing.
