The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on June 1 to 6:00am on June 2, we received 539 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 75
- East: 110
- Midtown: 98
- North: 92
- South: 64
- West: 87
- Other: 13
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Monday, June 1:
Priority calls only from 4:26pm to 5:07pm due to calls for service.
- 6:09am – North – Damage to Property: An employee showed up to work this morning and observed bullet holes in two windows (1800 block of Northport Drive). Holes consistent with BB guns. Investigation continuing.
- 8:39am – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who did not show up to work over the weekend. Phone contact attempted without success. No answer at the subject's residence. Family flew in to try to locate/contact the subject. Entry made to the residence. Subject not located. The subject was entered as missing in the appropriate databases.
- 12:53pm – Midtown – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated subject (27-year-old male) being verbally aggressive toward a passerby and throwing steppingstones at a nearby building (N. Randall Ave). The subject was contacted by officers. The subject fled on foot but was apprehended. The subject threatened officers and spit at them. The subject was arrested for resisting, discharge of bodily fluids at public safety worker, and threats to law enforcement.
- 1:10pm – West – Child Abuse: Officers responded to a child abuse report involving a victim (minor) and their father (43-year-old male). The victim had sustained a visible injury. Probable cause was developed to arrest the subject. The subject was transported to jail for physical abuse of a child.
- 1:15pm – Central – Sexual Assault: Victim reported being sexually assaulted in April by an ex. Investigation continuing.
- 1:15pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving 3 subjects (Rethke Ave). A 25-year-old male subject was identified as the primary aggressor. The subject physically assaulted a victim. The subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct (2 counts).
- 10:18pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a box cutter. A 31-year-old male subject threw a box cutter at the victim. The subject also kicked the victim in the head. The subject left the residence. Officers located the subject and arrested him for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
- 11:12pm – Central – Runaway Juvenile: A frequent runaway (14-year-old female) was reported as running away again. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
- 11:46pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Victim reported losing/dropping their debit card. Victim was provided video by a business which showed a subject using their card. The victim observed the subject (41-year-old male) at a bus stop. Officers responded and arrested the subject for misappropriation of personal ID crime, obstruction, credit card fraud, possession of drug paraphernalia, a probation hold, and a warrant for child support.
Tuesday, June 2:
- 12:26am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers observed a 29-year-old male subject on State Street where he was arrested earlier in the day from and banned from. The subject was arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping.
