The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on June 11 to 6:00am on June 12, we received 475 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 87
  • East: 103
  • Midtown: 74
  • North: 75
  • South: 61
  • West: 70
  • Other: 5

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Thursday, June 11:

Priority calls only from 7:25pm to 8:45pm due to calls for service.

  • 9:28am - Central – Damage to Property: A witness reported seeing the 62-year-old male suspect using a large rock to smash a car window. Officers arrested the suspect and cited him for damage to property. 
  • 9:38am - West – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers assisted Journey Mental Health with placing a man into protective custody and transported him to a hospital.
  • 10:36am - Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers assisted Journey Mental Health with a Chapter 51 return by transporting a man to the hospital.
  • 10:51am - North – Stalking: The victim reported that the 47-year-old male suspect was harassing her with unwanted calls and texts and was following her in his vehicle. The suspect was arrested and charged with stalking, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
  • 11:06am - South – Disturbance:  Officers responded to a residence where the 43-year-old male suspect was present despite being prohibited by bail conditions. Officers arrested the suspect and charged him with bail jumping. A 40-year-old female suspect was arrested for obstructing officers.
  • 12:53pm - East – Theft: Officers responded to an apartment building where the property manager showed them video of the 38-year-old female suspect stealing packages from the vestibule. The suspect was arrested for theft.
  • 5:48pm - Midtown – Adult Arrest Warrant: Officers located a 41-year-old male suspect who had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was taken into custody and newly charged with possession of psilocybin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • 6:30pm - West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 30-year-old female suspect pushed the victim, struck her and strangled her. The suspect was arrested and charged with battery, disorderly conduct, strangulation and resisting.
  • 8:45pm - South – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence where a man and woman were found deceased in a garage possibly due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Nothing suspicious on scene.
  • 9:46pm - Central – Robbery: A victim reported that an unidentified suspect snatched her headphones off her head while she was in the 200 block of State St. Suspect is at large. Investigation continuing.
  • 10:51pm - Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers observed the 43-year-old male suspect riding a bike without a light and falling off the bike. The suspect was arrested on two warrants and newly charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting.
  • 11:31pm - Central – OVMWI: Officers observed the 47-year-old male suspect violate a red traffic signal and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect was and charged with OWI 1st, resisting, obstructing, and disorderly conduct.

Friday, June 12:

  • 1:34am - Central – Residential Burglary: Officers responded to an apartment building where the unidentified suspect was discovered going through a vehicle in a garage. The suspect threatened a resident, who had come into the garage, with a knife before fleeing on foot. Suspect remains at large. Investigation continuing.
