The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Thursday morning to Monday morning.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on June 18 to 6:00am on June 22 we received 1,718 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Thursday, June 18:

  • 7:30am – West – Domestic Disturbance: Caller reported that their ex (27-year-old female) was at their location and was wanted for an incident that occurred the previous night. Officers responded and made contact with both subjects. Another incident was reported where probable cause was also developed to arrest/charge the subject. The subject was arrested for simple battery (2 counts). The subject was transported to jail.
  • 9:14am – West – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject who has access to a gun and there were children present in the home. Children were able to exit the home. Contact made with the subject. Firearm located/recovered for safekeeping. The subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Final outcome pending.
  • 12:16pm – West – Stolen Auto: Vehicle reported stolen overnight. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
  • 2:30pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 16-year-old female subject armed with a knife. The subject got into an argument with the victim inside the residence that then spilled out into the yard. The subject pinned the victim to the ground and began swinging the knife at them. Neighbors intervened and pulled the subject off the victim. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, false imprisonment, battery, and disorderly conduct. The subject was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.
  • 6:19pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was screaming in the victim's face and became enraged when the victim tried to leave the residence. CARES plugged in due to the subject's mental health diagnoses. Attempts were made to de-escalate the situation. The subject continued to escalate and threatened harm. Officers went to detain the subject and he resisted. The subject kicked an officer. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, resisting, and battery to law enforcement.
  • 7:01pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a 66-year-old male subject. Officers arrived on scene and observed the subject screaming at the victim who was inside a vehicle. The subject was detained as he had an active warrant. Subjects interviewed. Probable cause developed for new charges from today's incident. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and the outstanding warrant.

Friday, June 19:

  • 2:52am – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a fight involving a knife in the area of N. Henry St/W. Gorham St. Victim reported being physically assaulted by two unknown subjects (descriptions provided). Subjects matching the description provided were observed and contacted. Both subjects were cited for disorderly conduct (25-year-old male, 24-year-old male).
  • 3:46am – Midtown – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject. The subject physically assaulted the victim and broke their cell phone. The subject also threatened to kill the victim and their family. A 24-year-old male subject arrived in the area intoxicated and began to argue with officers. The subject would not stop and found himself under arrest for disorderly conduct and resisting. The other subject was arrested for criminal damage to property, battery, and intimidation of a victim.
  • 6:02am – North – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who was laying on the stairs in a building. The subject was contacted and found to be injured. The subject was transported to a local hospital. The subject was intoxicated and did not recall what had happened. Investigation continuing.  
  • 9:07am – West – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who has medical/health concerns and was not answering the door for a family member.  The subject could be seen through a window not moving. Entry was made to the residence. The subject was found to be in medical distress – pulseless/not breathing. Officers performed lifesaving aid and a pulse was regained. The subject was transported to a local hospital.
  • 3:44pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: A 54-year-old female subject was located on a property that was marked no trespassing. The subject had probable cause for their arrest from previous incidents. The subject was arrested on the probable cause, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • 4:26pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 52-year-old female subject was in a vehicle that she did not have permission to be in. The subject refused to get out of the vehicle. The subject was arrested for trespass to vehicle.
  • 4:56pm – South – Crash: Officers responded to a 2-vehicle crash (E. Olin/John Nolen). A 24-year-old male subject driver turned left in front of the other driver, cutting them off, causing the crash. Minor injuries sustained. The subject was cited for failure to yield/left turn.
  • 5:41pm – Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (90-year-old male) who had not been seen in several days. Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 11:24pm – Central – Intoxicated Driver: A driver (24-year-old male) lost control and crashed their vehicle into a traffic light (E. Wilson/John Nolen Drive). The driver was found to be impaired. The driver was transported to a local hospital where they were admitted for precautionary scans. The subject was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Saturday, June 20:

Priority calls only from 9:45am to 12:29pm due to calls for service. 

  • 2:37am – Central – Disturbance: Officers were on S. Pinckney St monitoring the crowds when a group of people began pushing and shoving one another. A 23-year-old male subject refused to disperse when officers ordered the crowd to leave. The subject was arrested for resisting and disorderly conduct.
  • 7:52am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 49-year-old male subject. The subject refused to let 2 victims leave the residence. The subject was armed with a knife. The subject threw a bench at one of the victim's, causing them pain. The subject armed himself with a hatchet and pushed the victim to the ground and strangled them. The subject exited the residence as officers arrived on scene and was taken into custody. Charges: disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct while armed, battery, false imprisonment (2 counts), and strangulation (all domestic-related charges). Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was transported to a facility for placement.  
  • 9:52am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving an intoxicated subject (35-year-old male) refusing to leave the premises. There were other subjects in the home that also refused to leave. Officers made contact with the subject and attempted to dialogue with him. The subject threatened to harm officers. The subject refused to comply with officers' orders. A taser was deployed and the subject was taken into custody. The subject continued to resist officers. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct (2 counts), domestic battery, resisting, and threats to law enforcement.
  • 2:32pm – North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a 70-year-old male subject who was wearing a bike helmet only and was exposing himself/masturbating. The subject provided a false name to officers. The subject was arrested for obstructing. Additional investigation into additional charges as the complainant was not able to be reached.
  • 4:13pm – Central – Disturbance:  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 50-year-old male subject. The subject went into a business to offer their services. The business declined and the subject became upset. The subject was yelling/screaming and left the business with the employee's cell phone. The subject was contacted. The subject admitted to taking the phone and throwing it out the window. The subject was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and theft. The cell phone was located/recovered for the victim.
  • 10:14pm – North – Drug Incident:  A traffic stop was conducted involving a 41-year-old male driver/subject. The subject did not pull over immediately. The subject was asked to step out of the vehicle. The subject refused. The subject was extracted from the vehicle. The subject resisted and fought with officers. The subject elbowed an officer in the face. The subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver marijuana, resisting causing soft tissue injury, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • 10:47pm – Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject armed with a knife. The subject was detained and subsequently arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed (2 counts). The subject was upset with another person in the residence who was cooking. The subject made threats to that person and had armed himself with a knife.
  • 11:47pm – South – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted and the driver (34-year-old male) was found to be impaired. The subject was uncooperative and attempted to walk away. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

Sunday, June 21:

Priority calls only from 12am-12:52am due to calls for service. 

Priority calls only from 1:37pm to 3:34pm due to calls for service. 

  • 1:09am – Central – Traffic Arrest:  A traffic stop was initiated. The driver/subject (58-year-old male) did not stop. The subject went through a red light, rolled through stop signs, and was going 9-10mph.  The driver eventually stopped and was detained. The subject was arrested for fleeing and resisting. He was cited for a red light violation and operating after revocation. He was also charged with threats toward law enforcement as he threatened violence on the way to jail.
  • 7:28am – East – Trespassing: Officers responded to a building under construction for a subject (46-year-old male) trespassing. The subject was located/contacted. The subject was arrested for trespass to a construction site, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject also had an outstanding warrant.  
  • 10:35am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 45-year-old male subject. The subject physically assaulted the victim. The victim got into a vehicle with the subject even though they did not want to. The subject became more agitated. The victim was able to get out of the vehicle and run. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
  • 11:23am – North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a sexual assault involving a 31-year-old male subject. The victim and the subject have children together. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree sexual assault, domestic false imprisonment, and disorderly conduct.
  • 1:30pm – Central – Theft: Victim reported their backpack containing personal items/electronics was stolen. The electronic items were tracked. A subject (26-year-old male) was observed with the backpack. The subject was contacted. The subject was found to be in possession of multiple IDs and another bag that did not belong to him. The subject was arrested for felony theft and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
  • 6:20pm – Midtown – Injured Person: Officers responded to a local hospital for a patient with a gunshot wound to their leg. The incident was said to have occurred a couple of days ago. Contact made with the subject who was vague with details and could not remember that occurred. Investigation continuing.
  • 10:26pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 41-year-old male subject was observed on State Street where they are banned from. The subject was contacted and he resisted officers. The subject was arrested for resisting, disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
  • 11:02pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: A 48-year-old female subject called dispatch reporting they had been drinking all day and wanted to go to a psych ward. The subject had an outstanding warrant. The subject was contacted, obtained a medical clearance, and was booked into jail on the warrant.

Monday, June 22:

  • 3:13am – Central – Traffic Arrest: A traffic stop was conducted. Contact made with the driver and passenger. A 22-year-old male subject refused to ID himself. The subject was identified and found to have an outstanding warrant (arrested/transported to jail). A 43-year-old male subject was arrested for operating after revocation and failure to install IID.
