The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on June 24 to 6:00am on June 25, we received 482 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 81
  • East: 111
  • Midtown: 87  
  • North: 63
  • South: 55
  • West: 76
  • Other: 9

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, June 24:

Priority calls only from 7:47am to 8:32am due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 4:20pm to 8:23pm due to calls for service.

  • 7:36am – South – Crash: Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash vs. retaining wall (Beltline/South Towne Blvd). No injuries sustained.
  • 3:11pm – South – Traffic Stop: A traffic stop was initiated involving a 35-year-old female subject/driver. The driver stopped. While the officer was running the driver's ID, they fled on foot.      A dog in the vehicle was turned over to the Humane Society. The vehicle was towed. The driver was located at home. She was arrested for resisting/obstruction and felony bail jumping.
  • 4:43pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance. A subject was placed into protective custody, transported to a local hospital, and an emergency detention is being sought. Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was transported to a facility. 
  • 9:26pm – Central – Armed Robbery: A retail theft was reported at a business on the east side. The suspect vehicle was then used in an armed robbery at a gas station on Williamson Street where a gun was displayed to store employees. Cash was taken/stolen. The vehicle was observed by officers. A traffic stop was initiated. 4 subjects were in the vehicle and they were all detained (30-year-old male, 17-year-old male, 38-year-old female, 40-year-old male). The female subject walked away from the scene and was located hiding nearby. Interviews/investigation conducted. 30-year-old arrested for carrying a concealed weapon (knife) as a felon, possession of cocaine, armed robbery, and misdemeanor retail theft. The 17-year-old was arrested for armed robbery (party to a crime) and misdemeanor retail theft. The female subject was arrested on a probation/parole hold. The 40-year-old was arrested on a probation/parole hold as well. Investigation continuing.
  • 10:51pm – South – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject (35-year-old male) refusing to leave the premises of a business they were not a customer at. Officers attempted to move the subject along but he refused. The subject was arrested for trespassing and resisting.
  • 11pm – North – Strong Armed Robbery: A victim reported being robbed by several unknown subjects. There was a delay in this incident being reported. Cameras in the area checked and nothing observed. Invesetigation continuing.
  • 11:32pm – North – Trespassing: A 53-year-old female subject refused to leave a medical facility. The subject was arrested for trespassing and taken to jail to post on the citation.

Thursday, June 25:

Priority calls only from 12:33am to 2:05am due to calls for service. 

  • 12:13am – East – Adult Arrested Person: A 19-year-old female subject called dispatch stating they had a gun and was going to start shooting people. Contact made with the subject. The subject admitted to using drugs and stated she did not have a gun. No gun located. The subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and filing a false police report.
  • 2:02am – Central – Disturbance:  Officers responded to a fight between two subjects on State Street. A 21-year-old male subject was identified as the primary aggressor. He was cited for battery and disorderly conduct while under the influence.
