The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on June 25 to 6:00am on June 26, we received 492 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 114
  • East: 83
  • Midtown: 74  
  • North: 81
  • South: 57
  • West: 69
  • Other: 14

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Thursday, June 25:

Priority calls only from 4:51pm to 8:41pm due to calls for service. 

  • 6:29am – East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (58-yaer-old female). The subject has a history of health/medical concerns. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but they were not successful. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 9:08am – East – Non-Residential Burglary: A convenience store reported the front door was shattered overnight. Video shows a subject smashing the glass, entering the store, and stealing merchandise. Investigation continuing.
  • 9:26am – North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (64-year-old female). The subject has a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded as the subject was found to be deceased. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 1:42pm – Central – Disturbance:  Officers responded to the Beacon for a disturbance involving a 29-year-old female subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the subject, who remains at-large.
  • 1:57pm – South – Conveyance: Officers were requested to locate a subject in need of a Chapter 51 return.  The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital.  
  • 2:19pm – South – Juvenile Arrest: Officers responded to a residence for a 14-year-old female subject causing a disturbance and destroying the residence. Officers arrived on scene and the juvenile fled on foot. The juvenile was apprehended. The juvenile resisted officers. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting.
  • 3:11pm – Central – Check Person:  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted. The subject was injured due to self-harm. The subject was placed into protective custody, transported to a local hospital, and evaluated for an emergency detention (supported). Subject became voluntary and was admitted to a local hospital.
  • 5:33pm – East – Weapons Offense:  Officers responded to a residence for a report of an accidental discharge of a firearm.  An individual ended up being shot in both feet by one shot. The details of what occurred changed throughout the investigation. Investigation continuing.
  • 9:11pm – South – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 46-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
  • 10:22pm – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention evaluation. Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago.

Friday, June 26:

  • 1:08am – East – Domestic Disturbance:  Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, domestic intimidation of a victim, misdemeanor bail jumping, and an outstanding warrant.
