The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on March 10 to 6:00am on March 11, we received 486 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 83
- East: 93
- Midtown: 91
- North: 80
- South: 58
- West: 72
- Other: 9
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Monday, March 9:
- 7:10am - Central – Check Person: Officers responded to a hotel on Regent Street to check the welfare of a 22-year-old female subject that was throwing things around in the restaurant area. Local mental health resources consulted. The subject was contacted and attempted to dialogue with the subject. Officers went to leave the subject at the hotel when she began removing pictures from the walls and throwing them. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. *Subject was bailed out and continued to cause disturbances throughout the city. The subject was taken into protective custody. An emergency detention was sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago for placement.
- 8:54am - West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance between two subjects. The subject (juvenile) threatened to harm their mother. The juvenile also made suicidal statements. The subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Subject voluntarily accepted services so officers disengaged.
- 2:54pm - North – Disturbance: Officers responded to an on-going disturbance involving two subjects. A 24-year-old male subject found out that the victim was at Warner Park Beach and went there with several friends to confront them. The subject parked the victim’s vehicle in so they could not get out. An unknown male subject presented a rifle and was yelling at the victim. The victim called 911. The subject and his friends fled the area. The subject was located/contacted by officers. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping. Further investigation continuing.
- 8:55pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 26-year-old female subject. An argument took place where the subject damaged a gaming system. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and bail jumping.
- 10:39pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a 911 call that had been cancelled (an alarm call also went off at the residence). Officers made contact at the residence and discovered a disturbance had taken place involving a 29-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, disorderly conduct, felony intimidation of a victim, and felony bail jumping.
Wednesday, March 11:
- 12:11am - Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a hotel on S. Carroll Street for a disturbance involving a 47-year-old female subject. The subject caused several disturbances and tried to pick a fight with staff. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
- 1:11am - Central – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who was screaming for someone to call the police. The subject was located on a bridge with their legs hanging off it and threatening to jump. An officer grabbed the subject off the ledge and took them into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. The subject was determined to be intoxicated. The subject agreed to accept services voluntarily at this time. Officers disengaged.
