The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on March 13 to 6:00am on March 16 we received 1,230 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 230
  • East: 227
  • Midtown: 238   
  • North: 183
  • South: 148
  • West: 161
  • Other: 43

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Friday, March 13:

  • 7:54am – North – Check Person: Officers responded to Reindahl Park to check the status of a subject (76-year-old male) leaned up against a tree and not moving. The subject was found to be deceased. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.  
  • 8:22am – Central – Crash: Officers responded to a Metro bus vs. pedestrian crash (pedestrian did not remain on scene). The bus driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.  Local hospitals notified in case the pedestrian arrives with any injuries.  
  • 12:44pm – South – Adult Arrested Person: A 31-year-old male subject went to his family’s residence where he is not welcomed and caused a disturbance. The subject kicked the front door and threatened to kill his family. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
  • 1:45pm – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the Beacon for a disturbance involving a 46-year-old female subject. The subject was harassing other patrons and refused to leave the premises when staff asked her to. The subject threatened staff. The subject resisted officers and was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, and trespassing.   
  • 7:06pm – East – Missing Adult: A 26-year-old male subject was reported as missing from their group home. The subject has a history of walking away. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases. *Subject located safe in Iowa.  
  • 7:23pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: A wanted subject (69-year-old male) was contacted by officers and taken into custody (forgery and receiving stolen property charges).
  • 7:27pm – West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a restaurant on S. Gammon Rd for a 41-year-old male subject refusing to leave the premises after staff asked him to. The subject was playing a video on his phone very loud.  He was asked to turn it down and he refused. He was asked to leave and he refused. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.  
  • 8:45am – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. The subject turned themselves in the next day (domestic disorderly conduct).  
  • 11:18pm – Central – Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to Taco Bell on State Street for a 36-year-old male subject who wanted to start a fight with another subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.  

Saturday, March 14:

  • 12:14am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers were contacted about a 21-year-old male subject in a bar that was being inappropriate towards women and refusing to leave the premises when asked to by staff. The subject was contacted by officers and attempted to walk away as they were talking to him. The subject was arrested for resisting and trespassing.  
  • 12:26am – West – Domestic Disturbance: Caller/victim reported that a 22-year-old male subject took their phone and it was plotting at the mall area. The phone was recovered and returned to the victim. The victim reported a physical altercation took place with the subject who physically grabbed them causing them pain. The subject was contacted and arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.  
  • 1:44am – Central – Non-Residential Burglary: Officers responded to Breese Stevens for a report of 3 males with ski masks break in and steal liquor.  The subjects were no longer on scene when officers arrived.  
  • 11:17am – South – Found Property:  A handgun was located along the railroad tracks off Culmen St. 
  • 12:21pm – South – Crash: A 38-year-old male driver struck a traffic light, knocking it over. The driver was transported to a local hospital. The driver may have experienced a medical event that led to the crash. No other injuries reported.  
  • 1:08pm – East – Traffic Arrest: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver (28-year-old female subject) had a revoked driver’s license, suspended license plate, failed to have an ignition interlock device installed in the vehicle as required, and driving with a minor. The subject was arrested and transported to jail.
  • 1:39pm – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence involving a 20-year-old male subject. The subject has bail conditions to not be at the residence. The subject fled from officers, but was apprehended. Victim not on scene. The subject was arrested for resisting and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).  
  • 4:23pm – Central – Sexual Assault: Officers responded to the Beacon for a report of a sexual assault involving a 66-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for 4th degree sexual assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a warrant.  
  • 6:37pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a 911 disconnect at a residence with screaming heard in the background. Entry made to a unit to check the welfare of any occupants. The involved subject (39-year-old male) was not on scene. The victim had visible injuries. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.  
  • 8:39pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance with a knife involved. The victim sustained a cut to their hand. The 15-year-old female subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.  
  • 10:23pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 41-year-old female subject. The subject came home intoxicated and caused a disturbance. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.  
  • 11:47pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 24-year-old male subject was riding a bike with no front headlight when officers tried to make contact. The subject did not stop. The subject later stopped and denied having identification. The subject took off on his bike again and was later detained. The subject resisted officers. The subject was identified and found to have a warrant. The subject was also charged with resisting.  

Sunday, March 15:

Priority calls only from 9:59am to 1:30pm due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 4:41pm to 7:53pm due to calls for service. 

  • 12:36am – Central – Battery: A 21-year-old male subject punched a bartender in the face. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery.  
  • 8:31am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 61-year-old male subject exposed himself in public. The subject was arrested for lewd/lascivious behavior and a warrant (for the same charge).  
  • 2:59pm – South – Disturbance: Officers responded to an apartment building lobby for two subjects verbally arguing. Contact made with a 25-year-old male subject who resisted officers. The subject was arrested for resisting. Probable cause not developed for any charges related to the argument.
  • 8:16pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to an open line 911 call with comments of a disturbance taking place. Officers made contact with a 42-year-old male subject who attempted to walk away from officers. The subject was detained. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstruction, possession of cocaine, and probable cause for 3 additional charges.
  • 10:37pm – East – Non-Residential Burglary: Two subjects were observed checking car doors in lots of automotive repair businesses (Femrite Drive). Two subjects (23-year-old male and 34-year-old male) were contacted. They were both arrested for burglary (party to a crime).
  • 11:42pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to sounds of a disturbance at a residence (apartment unit). Contact attempted at the unit (no answer). Contact ultimately made with a 30-year-old female subject who was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Monday, March 16:

Priority calls only started at 2:04am and continue at the time of this writing.
