The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on March 23 to 6:00am on March 24, we received 460 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 58
  • East: 99
  • Midtown: 76  
  • North: 87
  • South: 69
  • West: 63
  • Other: 8

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Monday, March 23:

Priority calls only from 4:58pm to 8:16pm due to calls for service. 

  • 5:37am – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (46-year-old female). The decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified. 
  • 6:54am – North – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject, who also has probable cause for their arrest. The subject was located and taken into protective custody. Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago. Criminal charges pending.
  • 10:07am – South – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (70-year-old female). Entry was made to the residence. The subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified. 
  • 12:20pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Victim reported ongoing harassment via text messages from an ex (28-year-old female). Phone contact attempted with the subject. The subject hung up on officers. The subject lives out of state. Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the subject.  
  • 1:46pm – East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (92-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 9:52pm – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (43-year-old male) who was likely having an overdose. Naloxone administered before officers/EMS arrived on scene. Subject not able to be revived. Evidence of drug use on scene. Two subjects in the home were arrested for outstanding warrants (42-year-old male and 28-year-old female).
  • 10:33pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance between two subjects (sisters). A 47-year-old female subject showed up at her sister's home intoxicated. The subject screamed at the victim. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, obstruction (lied to the police about being armed), and felon in possession of a concealed knife.  
  • 11:30pm – Central – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted (no headlights). The driver (66-year-old male) did not initially stop. The driver tried to park in a stall and backed into a parked vehicle. The driver remained uncooperative with officers and refused field sobriety testing. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense), resisting, obstruction, threats to law enforcement, and operating after revocation. 

Tuesday, March 24:

  • 2:54am – East – Adult Arrested Person: An officer came into contact with a 43-year-old male subject on a bicycle. The subject had an outstanding warrant and a parole hold. The subject was arrested and transported to jail.
