The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working on the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00am on March 27 to 6:00am on March 30, we received 1,189 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

Notable calls
Friday, March 27:
12:00 pm – North – Death investigation: Officers responded to a retirement community after property management found an 80-year-old woman deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.
12:17 pm – North – Disturbance: Officers responded an apartment in the 3800 block of Whitman Lane. While watering plants on the balcony, water dripped to the balcony below. Two juveniles on the balcony below thought it was urine and confronted the upstairs resident. The resident said one made threats, while brandishing a gun. Officers transported both juveniles to JRC on charges of disorderly conduct while armed and disorderly conduct while armed (party to a crime).
2:08 pm – South – Check person: A subject, released from a behavior health facility, attempted to jump out of a moving vehicle in the 2000 block of Baird Street. The individual's spouse, who was the driver, called police to report the incident. The woman was taken into protective custody and then transported to a hospital.
5:03 pm – Citywide – Attempt to locate: Madison police developed probable cause in references to individuals wanted in a series of burglaries. An off-duty officer coming in for their shift spotted two of the wanted juveniles. The two were ultimately located and taken to JRC
8:30 pm - North – Sexual assault: An individual called police to report being sexually assaulted about a year ago. Investigation continuing.
9:39 pm - Central – Suspicious person: An officer was flagged down by someone who reported a suspicious person with a gun sticking out of his pants pocket inside a restaurant on State Street. The subject, who resisted police commands, was taken into custody. No firearm was found.
Saturday, March 28:
2:21 am - Central – Traffic arrest: A traffic stop was conducted. Three of the four occupants are on probation/parole. Officers found marijuana and a firearm in the vehicle. The subjects were arrested and transported to jail.
8:36 am - East – Traffic complaint/Investigation: Officers received a call from a motorist regarding a driver making rude gestures and driving erratically near East Washington and North Fair Oaks Avenue. The vehicle was not found.
9:35 am - Midtown – Suspicious person: Officers were dispatched to a place of worship following reports of a suspicious male inside. The subject left by car. Investigation continuing.
9:41 am - East – Check person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was found at a local hospital. Local mental health resources plugged in. Final outcome pending.
3:20 pm - East – Domestic disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a domestic disturbance involving a married couple. Upon arrival, officers could hear a disturbance inside the residence. The subject was arrested and taken to jail, while facing charges of domestic disorderly conduct.
5:33 pm - East – Death investigation: Officers received a call regarding a 64-year-old found deceased by his roommate. Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent was on medication that are not to be taken with alcohol. Nothing suspicious identified.
Sunday, March 29:
12:02 am - South – Assist EMS/Fire: Officers responded, along with MFD, to a call from a juvenile called 911after he found a THC vape pen, smoked it and started feeling adverse effects. The subject was transported to the hospital. He is admitted for observation but there are no significant concerns. Officers find and seize the vape pen and several pre rolled marijuana joints. Officers found multiple adults in the victim's home smoke marijuana. CPS was contacted.
2:05 am - South – Domestic disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance at a home where children were present. The victim reported being punched in the face as she called 911 for help. The subject prevented the victim from fleeing. He took the victim's bank card, withdrew cash and fled. Probable cause developed to charge the subject with domestic disorderly conduct, battery, intimidation, false imprisonment and bail jumping. The subject remains at-large.
4:46 am - South – Missing Juvenile/Runaway: An 18-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was entered as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. Update: The subject returned home.
6:27 am - Midtown – Disturbance: Madison Fire/EMS transported a subject to the hospital after reporting that he feels like he was having a heart attack. The subject began acting strangely and would not exit the ambulance. When officers arrived on scene attempts were made to talk to the subject. Believing the officers were not real, the subject darted to the hospital's glass doors and began banging on them. A struggle ensued and subject attempted to bite an officer in the leg. During the struggle, an officer received an injury to his hand. The subject, whose behavior is believed to be drug-induced, was taken into custody and treated at the hospital. The individual faces charges of felony resisting causing soft tissue injury, and battery to law enforcement.
10:39 am - South – Check person: Officers were dispatched to a southside park for reports of a man having an episode. The subject was taken into protective custody and then transported to a hospital.
10:45 am - North – Death investigation: Officers were dispatched to a home where a 66-year-old was found deceased by the facilities management. The subject, a live-in caregiver, had medical issues. Those she cared for were not harmed. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
4:37 pm - East – Domestic disturbance: Officers responded to an argument outside a home in the 1900 block of Londonberry Drive. A subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
8:09 pm - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a fast-food restaurant for a subject, who had previously been warned for trespassing, was now back causing a disturbance. Staff said the subject was spitting into the soda dispenser tray area and wrapped his lips around one of the soda fountain nozzles and took a drink for it. The subject then vomited in the main entrance of the restaurant. The 30-year-old was arrested and taken to jail for disorderly conduct, and trespassing charges.
