The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on March 31 to 6:00am on April 1, we received 382 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 53
  • East: 73
  • Midtown: 60  
  • North: 80
  • South: 43
  • West: 64
  • Other: 9

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Tuesday, March 31:

  • 8:18am – South – Residential Burglary: Officers responded to a residential complex where unknown subject(s) were breaking into storage units and stealing items. Investigation continuing.
  • 9:58am – Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (68-year-old female subject). Medical Examiner's office on scene. Decedent had a history of health/mental health concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 11:05am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject grabbed the victim by the neck, punched them in the head, and whipped them with a phone charging cord. The subject fled prior to officers' arrival on scene. Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the subject.
  • 11:42am – East – Domestic Disturbance: A 41-year-old male subject attempted to run the victim over with a vehicle. The victim continued to be assaulted by the subject and another unknown subject. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, domestic disorderly conduct, and a probation/parole warrant.
  • 1:55pm – Midtown – Runaway Juvenile: A 15-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. 
  • 2:11pm – North – Check Person: Officers responded to a group home for a resident causing a disturbance. The subject was detained and transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention evaluation. Emergency detention supported. Placement pending.
  • 6:02pm – East – Battery: A 52-year-old male subject pushed a victim (known acquaintance) out of their wheelchair and stomped on their head. The subject was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct, and felony bail jumping.
  • 10:39pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a disturbance that took place at a bus stop on State Street. A 49-year-old female subject did not like what 4 juveniles were talking about. The subject physically assaulted one of the juveniles. The subject was arrested for physical abuse to a child (2 counts), disorderly conduct, resisting, theft, and an outstanding warrant.

 Wednesday, April 1:

  • 12:12am – West – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to an EMS call for a 43-year-old male subject having chest pains after using cocaine. The subject has a history of being violent and was also wanted by MPD. The subject was transported to a local hospital and subsequently arrested/booked into jail (battery to law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and resisting/obstructing.  
  • 1:04am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a fight on W. Gorham St. Numerous citations were issued. A 27-year-old male subject threatened officers. The subject was arrested for threats to law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and resisting.
