The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on March 4 to 6:00am on March 5, we received 481 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 72
  • East: 82
  • Midtown: 115  
  • North: 101
  • South: 49
  • West: 59
  • Other: 3

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, March 4:

  • 4:41am - South – Adult Arrested Person: DOC requested MPD locate/arrest a client (25-year-old male) that has violated their terms of supervision. The subject fled on foot when officers arrived. The subject was taken into custody on the outstanding DOC warrant and a new charge for resisting.   
  • 7:55am - East – Missing Adult: A 72-year-old female subject was reported missing from her group home (2nd time in 2 days). Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. Subject located safe.  
  • 11:53am - North – Disturbance: Officers responded to the 4400 block of E. Washington Ave for a report of a 42-year-old male subject attacking a subject and threatening them with a piece of glass. Both subjects contacted. The subject lied to officers and stated the subject that was attacking the other subject already fled on foot. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, obstructing, and domestic disorderly conduct while armed.
  • 1pm - East – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle had been left running and unattended. The vehicle was located unoccupied. A 43-year-old female subject was identified as the one who stole the vehicle. The subject was contacted and arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent.
  • 4:41pm - East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to the men’s shelter for a report of a 30-year-old male subject exposing himself. The subject resisted officers when they made contact with him. The subject struck 2 officers in the face. The subject was arrested for lewd/lascivious behavior, battery to law enforcement (2 counts), resisting, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
  • 7:56pm - South – Adult Arrested Person: An officer observed a wanted subject (42-year-old male). The subject was contacted and arrested on 3 outstanding warrants.
  • 8:52pm - Midtown – Traffic Arrest: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver (30-year-old male) has bail conditions to not drive. The driver also has a revoked license and the license plate was on the wrong vehicle. The driver was arrested for bail jumping. He was issued citations for running a red light and operating a motor vehicle while revoked (4th offense).
  • 11:04pm - North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a disturbance. Probable cause was not developed. A 23-year-old male subject on scene was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was transported to jail.

Thursday, March 5:

  • 1:04am - Central – Non-Residential Burglary: Officers responded to an alarm at a business on W. Mifflin St. Alarm company reported seeing a subject in the business. A 32-year-old male subject was taken into custody. The subject was charged with burglary, possession of burglarious tools, criminal damage to property, and felony bail jumping.
  • 1:58am - Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject (49-year-old male) who was observed with blood all over them. The subject was observed running by officers. Officers attempted to contact the subject, but he continued to run. The subject was ultimately stopped and detained. The subject was resistive towards officers. The subject was found to be heavily intoxicated. The subject was arrested for resisting and disorderly conduct.
