The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on March 9 to 6:00am on March 10, we received 464 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 78
  • East: 101
  • Midtown: 68  
  • North: 82
  • South: 47
  • West: 81
  • Other: 7

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Monday, March 9:

Priority calls only from 4:041pm to 5:06pm due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 5:26pm to 11:28pm due to calls for service. 

  • 7:39am - Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject. The subject was staying with the caller/victim. The victim told the subject last night to be gone by the morning, which he was not. An argument took place between the subject and the victim that could be heard by dispatch. The subject was not on scene when officers arrived. The caller/victim was not very cooperative with officers. The victim reported their phone and keys were taken by the subject. Phone contact made with the subject who agreed to wait at his place of work. Officers went to the subject’s workplace, and they were not helpful to get in contact with the subject. The caller/victim reported they spoke with the subject and arranged to get their phone back and there were no other concerns. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.  
  • 9:25am - Midtown – Retail Theft: Officers responded to CVS Pharmacy on Mineral Point Rd for a retail theft involving a 34-year-old male subject who stole a box of wine. The subject was contacted and cited for retail theft.  He was also banned from the store.  
  • 4:09pm - North – PNB Response: Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (28-year-old male). Naloxone was administered. The subject was revived and transported to a local hospital. Charges pending for possession of schedule I narcotics and a probation/parole hold.
  • 5:17pm - West – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance with a handgun involved. A 35-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and 2nd degree reckless endangering safety. A gun was recovered. Ring video captured the incident.
  • 5:17pm - Central – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to the 500 block of W. Olin Ave for a crash. A 68-year-old male driver was behind the wheel, went unconscious, and the vehicle continued to move forward at a slow speed and then accelerated rapidly before crashing into a building. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
  • 5:21pm - Central – Trespass: The district has received numerous complaints about loitering, drug use, and sexual activity behind St. John’s Church (300 block of E. Washington Ave). Officers were checking the lot today and observed two subjects sitting below a no trespassing sign. A female subject was cited for trespassing and released. A 57-year-old male subject lied about his identity. Once property identified, the subject was found to have 2 warrants. The subject was arrested for obstructing, possession of drug paraphernalia, trespassing, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
  • 5:24pm – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the 500 block of University Ave for a disturbance between two subjects. A 38-year-old male subject was observed pushing a female subject. The female subject was not cooperative with officers. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • 5:37pm - North – Domestic Disturbance: A victim reported a physical altercation that occurred in April involving a 37-year-old male subject. The victim had a video of the injuries they sustained. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
  • 6:12pm - West – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of suicidal subject. The subject was contacted, taken into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. An emergency detention was sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago.
  • 9:23pm - Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 21-year-old male subject has been harassing a victim since early 2024. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping.

Tuesday, March 10:

  • 1:30am - Central – Disturbance: An officer was flagged down by an intoxicated subject on State St. The subject was taken into protective custody due to his level of intoxication. The subject was transported to a local hospital where he created a disturbance. The subject’s girlfriend (26-year-old female) tracked officers and her boyfriend to the hospital. The female subject attempted to intervene as her boyfriend (23-year-old male) was actively resisting officers. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, and attempted battery to law enforcement. The female subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing.
  • 1:44am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 71-year-old male subject was arrested on outstanding probable cause.
