The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on May 11 to 6:00am on May 12, we received 415 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 62
  • East: 88
  • Midtown: 68  
  • North: 84
  • South: 44
  • West: 63
  • Other: 5

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Monday, May 11:

Priority calls only from 8:58am to 10:29am due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 11:35pm to 5:41am due to calls for service. 

  • 7:50am – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers conveyed a subject to a local hospital and requested a mental health evaluation. Local placement secured.  
  • 8:45am – South – Hit-and-Run Crash: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle registered to a 37-year-old male subject with a DOC warrant. The subject provided the officer with a false name and then took off from the traffic stop. The subject/vehicle crashed a few minutes later. The subject fled on foot and remains at-large. Investigation continuing.
  • 11:08am – South – Found Property: Officers were dispatched to a found cut-off ankle monitoring device.
  • 2:23pm – West – Trespassing: Officers responded to a trespassing complaint involving a 45-year-old female subject. The subject is banned from the property and also has bail conditions to not have contact with several subjects (that were present). The subject was arrested for trespassing and misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • 3:24pm – South – Unwanted Subject: Staff asked a 64-yaer-old male subject to leave their premises as he was previously banned. The subject refused to leave and caused a disturbance. Officers asked the subject to also leave the premises and he refused. The subject was arrested for trespassing and disorderly conduct.
  • 4:11pm – Central – Disturbance:  Officers responded to a disturbance in the 600 block of State Street. A 19-year-old male subject was damaging/messing with State Street Brats property. The manager asked the subject to stop and leave. The subject refused. The subject swung at and hit the manager. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • 10:34pm – West – Weapons Offense: Caller reported a bullet came through their wall from another apartment unit. The suspect unit was contacted. Subjects detained. Drugs and gun-related items observed in plain view. Search warrant drafted, submitted, and approved. Large amount of marijuana and numerous guns recovered. Investigation continuing.
  • 11:24pm – Central – Disturbance:  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male subject. The subject tried to enter the victim's tent. The victim told the subject not to. The subject continued to make comments about going into the tent and assaulting the victim. The subject used a knife and sliced the tent. The victim fled and called police. The subject fled the scene as well. The knife was left behind and recovered. The subject was observed and ran from officers. The subject was arrested for attempted 2nd degree sexual assault, disorderly conduct while armed, resisting, 1st degree reckless endangering safety, criminal damage to property, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping (3 counts). 

Tuesday, May 12:

  • 1:26am – Midtown – Check Area: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a large number of people at a recording studio. A firearm was mentioned to have been involved. Officers arrived in the area and did not hear/see any active disturbance(s). Contact made with numerous subjects inside the recording studio. A 16-year-old male subject was found to be armed. The subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, tampering with firearm, and possession of a firearm by a minor.
  • 1:56am – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 18-year-old male subject. The victim refused to get out of the vehicle and the subject tried to get the victim out of the vehicle. The subject began striking the victim in the head. The victim sustained visible injuries. The subject was arrested for battery.
