The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on November 12 to 6:00am on November 13, we received 376 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • South: 53
  • West: 41
  • Other: 3

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Wednesday, November 12:

Priority calls only from 8:32am to 9:35am due to calls for service/resources available/staffing available.

  • 4:11am - East – Armed Robbery: A victim reported being directed by an unknown person to get into an unknown vehicle driving by unknown people who then drove the victim to the area of Commercial Ave/Sprecher Rd. The victim reported that two subjects pointed guns at them and took change/keys from them. Investigation continuing.  
  • 8:27am - East – Sexual Assault: A victim reported being sexually assaulted the night prior. Investigation continuing.
  • 11:38am - South – Adult Arrested Person: Officers were provided information about the location of a wanted subject (42-year-old male). The subject was contacted, arrested, and transported to jail (domestic disorderly conduct, operating a motor vehicle without consent, and a probation hold).
  • 1:39pm - North – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a request for an emergency detention need of a juvenile. Local mental health resources plugged in.  The juvenile obtained a medical clearance from a local hospital. An emergency detention was sought/approved. The juvenile was transported to Winnebago.
  • 3:23pm - South – Recovered Runaway Juvenile: A location was provided for a runaway 12-year-old male subject. Contact made at the address and the juvenile was located. The juvenile was returned home.
  • 4:44pm - North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 61-year-old male subject with a gun. The subject was having a loud conversation in the hallway which led to the victim asking the subject to keep it down. The subject asked the victim to come out into the hallway. The subject pointed a handgun at the victim. The victim retreated into their residence and contacted police. The subject was contacted by police. A consent search was provided. A loaded and charged handgun was located in the residence. The subject confirms similar details of the incident but denies a gun was involved. The subject was arrested for armed while intoxicated, disorderly conduct while armed, 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, and obstruction.
  • 8:05pm - East – Child Abuse: A victim texted their older sibling to report they were slapped in the face by their mom/subject (42-year-old female) several times. The victim’s face was red. The subject was arrested for physical abuse to a child. The older sibling took custody of the victim and another sibling.
  • 11:03pm - North – Drug Incident: An occupied vehicle was observed in the parking lot of a motel. The license plate does not match the vehicle. Contact made with a 39-year-old female subject who provided false identification to officers. The subject was arrested for obstructing, possession of heroin, and a probation/parole hold. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested on 2 outstanding warrants (probation warrant/theft warrant).
