The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on November 14 to 6:00am on November 17 we received 1,152 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

- Other: 27
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Friday, November 14:
- 8:37am – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 39-year-old male subject. Officers arrived on scene, requested CARES, and disengaged. CARES requested officers to respond back as the subject was banging on their windows and not allowing them to leave. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
- 10:43am – West – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a subject screaming in the roadway. The subject was from a nearby group home and had staff with them outside. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital and left in the care of medical staff.
- 10:47am – East – Sexual Assault of a Child: Officers were provided information about a sexual assault of a child that was recently disclosed by the victim. Investigation continuing.
- 2:24pm – Central – Check Person: A 37-year-old female subject absconded from their sober living facility. Phone ping attempted but it was not successful. Attempt to locate aired. Subject not located. Request made to officers to check her welfare if located.
- 4:32pm – Midtown – Crash: Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash (Verona Road/Raymond Rd). A 44-year-old male driver rear-ended a vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital complaining of leg pain. No other injuries reported. The driver was processed for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. This will be the 4th offense if the driver is convicted of their 3rd offense which is pending in court. The driver was also charged with bail jumping and issued numerous traffic citations.
- 12:05am – East – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted due to high speeds and the driver (43-year-old female) driving in the bike lane almost striking the curb. An odor of intoxicants was detected on the driver/subject. The subject refused to participate in field sobriety tests. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
- 1:56am – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Contact made with the subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Local mental health resources plugged in. Officers disengaged.
- 3:11am – Central – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 31-year-old male subject passed out in the lobby of a hotel (N. Webster). The subject was covered in his own waste, had a gash on their forehead, and was unable to take care of himself. The subject was taken into protective custody. The subject obtained a medical clearance and subsequently transported to jail on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting, discharge of bodily fluids at public safety worker(s), and threats to law enforcement.
- 3:14am – East – Crash: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. tree crash (N. Thompson Dr/Swanton Rd). A caller reported hearing a subject screaming. Officers arrived on scene and located no occupants of the crashed vehicle. After being on scene for approximately 5 minutes, officers heard a subject screaming behind some cars. The driver (41-year-old male) was observed going into a residence and later trying to leave through a back door. Officers detained the driver. The driver was found to be impaired. The driver stated they were robbed and someone was driving his vehicle. The driver refused to participate in field sobriety tests. The driver had minor injuries consistent with a vehicle crash and had the car keys in his pocket. The other occupant was transported to a local hospital with several injuries. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence causing injury (2nd offense) and failure to render aid. The driver was also issued a traffic citation.
- 9:23am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers were provided a location for a subject (33-year-old female) who was wanted by the US Marshals. The subject attempted to flee but was apprehended. The subject was arrested on the warrant and transported to jail.
Saturday, November 15:

- 11:30am – East – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a 33-year-old female subject experiencing a drug overdose in a vehicle (driver). Prior to officers’ arrival, Narcan was administered to the subject by friends. The subject was revived and transported to a local hospital. The subject was processed for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
- 12:15pm – North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance where the victim was stabbed with a box cutter. The suspect was not on scene and has yet to be identified. The suspect is known to the victim. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect, who remains unidentified and at-large.
- 2:39pm – East – Recovered Stolen Vehicle: A vehicle that was reported stolen was located unoccupied (Marha Ln/Topaz Ln). Registered owner notified.
- 3:45pm – South – Sexual Assault of a Child: Officers received a sexual assault of a child report. Child Protective Services notified. Investigation continuing.
- 4:42pm – Central – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to multiple reports of a road rage incident that resulted in a crash (E. Main St). A 23-year-old male driver/subject was driving at a high rate of speed, cut off another vehicle, and then brake checked another vehicle. This led to a crash with the subject observed fleeing from the vehicle with a child. The subject returned to the vehicle (without the vehicle) and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence with a passenger under the age of 16 (1st offense), reckless driving, resisting/obstructing, disorderly conduct, and hit-and-run.
- 10:08pm – Midtown – Crash: An ambulance was inbound on University transporting a patient in critical condition to the hospital. A firetruck, using their emergency lights, saw the ambulance and blocked the intersection. A 21-year-old male driver drove around the fire truck and gets struck by the ambulance. No injuries sustained. The driver was cited for failure to yield to emergency vehicle, no insurance, and no driver’s license.
Sunday, November 16:

- 12:43am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 48-year-old male subject driving erratically and being intoxicated. The subject was involved in a disturbance prior to getting in the vehicle and leaving the area. The subject struck 3 individuals as he backed up the vehicle to leave the area. Minor injuries sustained. Subject remains at-large and has pending charges for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, domestic disorderly conduct, violation of a restraining order, hit-and-run, and a probation hold. *The subject was located and arrested.
- 1:11am – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance between two subjects. Officers arrive on scene and observed a 34-year-old male subject physically assaulting a victim. The subject was not cooperative with officers. The subject grabbed an officer’s vest and attempted to remove the taser from the officer’s holster. ECD deployed which was successful in detaining the subject. The subject continued to fight with officers. The subject was arrested for resisting causing soft tissue damage, attempt to disarm a police officer, and domestic disorderly conduct.
- 6:20am – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (73-year-old male). Nothing suspicious identified. Decedent had numerous health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner’s office responded.
- 6:59am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 40-year-old male subject, wanted, was located and taken into custody on a probation/parole warrant.
- 7:51am – North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a disturbance. Probable cause not developed. A 35-year-old male subject was found to have an outstanding warrant. The subject was transported to jail where he was also charged with obstructing as he lied to officers about his identity.
- 8:50am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving several subjects. A 26-year-old male subject got into a physical disturbance with another subject (pushing/shoving). The victim admitted to holding his handgun down by his side as the subject was coming at him. The subject smashed another victim’s cell phone and fled the area. Contact attempted with the subject without success. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 2:57pm – North – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a report of a 35-year-old male subject passed out in a vehicle with no license plates. The driver/vehicle left prior to officers’ arrival. The vehicle was observed and a traffic stop was conducted. The subject refused to participate in field sobriety tests. The subject had an outstanding warrant. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), possession of meth, and a probation hold.
- 3:53pm – West – Runaway Juvenile: A 15-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
- 6:06pm – North – Drug Incident: A 43-year-old male subject was asleep in a vehicle with a cigarette in his mouth. Officers contacted the subject and when the subject woke up he tried to conceal a crack pipe. The subject was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- 7:49pm – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance with sounds of a subject screaming for help. The victim was located battered and the suspect (47-year-old male) was not on scene. The subject attempted to hit the victim with a hammer multiple times. The subject knocked the victim several times and jumped up and down on them so they could not leave. The subject took the victim’s phone preventing them from calling 911. A young child ran to a neighbor’s home asking for help. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 8:20pm – West – Missing Adult: A 77-year-old female subject was reported missing. The subject has memory issues and was likely not dressed appropriately for the weather. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases. Silver Alert issued.
- 8:48pm – South – Check Area: Officers responded to the 700 block of W. Badger Rd for several reports of a male subject exiting a vehicle, firing 5-6 shots, and leaving the area. Casings located/recovered. No reported injuries or property damage at this time. Investigation continuing.
- 10:07pm – Midtown – Weapons Offense: A subject reported to a business that they had been shot. A victim was located with a gunshot wound to the chest. The subject was transported to a local hospital conscious and alert. No witnesses. A scene was not identified. The victim would not provide a statement to officers. The victim later changed their mind and provided a statement. The suspect is known to the victim. The victim would not identify the suspect. Investigation continuing.
- 11:36am – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject. The subject got into a verbal argument with their father. The subject was overheard saying “kill them” while possibly on the phone with someone else. The subject threw objects in the home and kicked furniture. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
Monday, November 17:

- 12:25am – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers arrived and located a pulseless non-breathing 44-year-old male subject in the hallway. Naloxone administered and the subject was revived. No answer at the residence of question. Entry made to check the welfare of any occupants. 3 subjects (45-year-old female, 25-year-old female, and 63-year-old male subject) located hiding in the residence. The 4 subjects were arrested on various charges (bail jumping, warrants, resisting, drug paraphernalia).
