The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00am on November 24 to 6:00am on November 25, we received 397 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

Notable calls

Monday, November 24:

  • 8:26am - South – Adult Arrested Person: A stolen vehicle was tracked to a convenience store. Officers observed a 34-year-old male suspect vacuuming the vehicle out. The suspect was detained. The suspect was found in possession of a meth pipe. There were stolen items located in the vehicle. The suspect was wearing a one-of-a-kind ring which was confirmed to be stolen and returned to the owner. The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
  • 8:31am - North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing 60-year-old male subject. Lifesaving measures were performed, but were not successful. The decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 10:25am - Central – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (84-year-old female). Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 11:54am - Midtown – Burglary: Officers responded to a burglary report in the 700 block of Odana Lane. Several subjects observed running when officers arrived. Numerous subjects detained/arrested. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. A 29-year-old female subject was arrested for resisting, possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor bail jumping. A 32-year-old female subject was arrested for resisting. A 34-yaer-old female subject was arrested for felony bail jumping.
  • 12:53pm - East – Mental Health Conveyance: A suicidal subject ran in front of a bus. No injuries were sustained. The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention evaluation. Emergency detention supported. The subject was placed at a local facility.
  • 4:01pm - Midtown – Disturbance: Officers responded to an active disturbance at a convenience store in the 2200 block of University Avenue. A 30-year-old female suspect asked other patrons for money to purchase cigarettes. The suspect refused to provide identification to staff for the purchase. The suspect began shouting, using expletives, and “pummeling” a victim. The suspect was posturing and spitting. The suspect fled but was located by officers and arrested for battery to elder person and disorderly conduct (2 counts).
  • 6:36pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 50-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 7:31pm - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male suspect at a residence. The suspect punched the victim in the face multiple times. The suspect was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • 8:05pm - Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to Hilldale for a report of a suspicious person (41-year-old female) following an employee. The subject was contacted by officers. The subject introduced herself as a doctor and advised officers she is the Chief of Police for MPD. The subject was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant (from Indiana). The subject was transported to jail.
  • 8:58pm - North – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 25-year-old male suspect who got into an argument with a family member after trying to ingest insulin that did not belong to him. The suspect left the area in a vehicle. Officers contacted the suspect and found him to be under the influence. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he was medically admitted. A probable cause affidavit was completed for possession of an illegally obtained prescription (4 counts) and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense). The suspect was also issued traffic citations.
  • 9:45pm - North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a 32-year-old male subject in a parking lot smashing up a car with what was believed to be an axe. The suspect was located barricaded in his room. The suspect was found to be in possession of a shovel. The suspect was intoxicated and high on drugs. The suspect was taken into custody and arrested for criminal damage to property (felony), disorderly conduct while armed, and resisting.

Tuesday, November 25:

  • 1:13am - Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a business on E. Main St for a damage to property complaint involving a 61-year-old male suspect. The suspect smashed the window of an employee’s vehicle, stole a backpack from the vehicle, and fled on foot. The suspect was located and taken into custody. The suspect was arrested for possession with intent to deliver marijuana, felon in possession of a concealed knife, criminal damage to property, entry into a locked vehicle, and theft.
