The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on November 25 to 6:00am on November 26, we received 436 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 55
  • East: 92
  • Midtown: 84
  • North: 67
  • South: 54
  • West: 63
  • Other: 21

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Tuesday, November 25:

Priority calls only from 11:38am-12:07pm due to calls for service/staffing available.

Priority calls only from 8:30pm to 9:29pm due to calls for service/staffing available.

  • 5:47am – East – Intoxicated Driver: A 61-year-old male suspect got into an argument with a former co-worker. It was reported that the suspect may have been armed with a gun. The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived. The suspect/vehicle was observed and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted. There was a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the suspect. There was an open bottle of tequila in the vehicle. No gun located. The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense) and a probation hold.
  • 6:12am - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old female suspect. The victim reported being hit numerous times by the suspect. The suspect slapped the victim multiple times and attempted to take his phone away. The victim sustained visible injuries. The suspect resisted officers and spit at them. Probable cause developed to charge the suspect with 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, domestic intimidation of a victim, domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct while armed, discharge bodily fluids at a public safety worker, and resisting. The suspect was conveyed to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Emergency detention supported. Placement secured and transport to Winnebago completed.
  • 7:27am - East – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen overnight from a residence. A door may have been left unlocked. A valet key was left in the vehicle. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
  • 9:41am - Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a 49-year-old male subject trespassing and sleeping in a stairwell. The suspect refused to leave the premises when asked to by staff. The suspect was contacted by officers. The suspect refused to leave the premises and was given numerous opportunities to leave on his own by officers. The suspect refused and actively resisted officers. The suspect was arrested for resisting and served a municipal citation for unlawful trespass after notification.
  • 1:07pm – South – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a 40-year-old female suspect damaging a vehicle with a baseball bat. Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect for disorderly conduct while armed. The suspect required a medical clearance where she actively resisted officers. The suspect was cleared at the hospital and booked into jail on additional charges of resisting, felony criminal damage to property, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • 7:32pm – Central – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. Emergency detention supported and the subject was placed at a local facility.
  • 11:13pm - West – Runaway Juvenile: A 13-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway. The juvenile has a history of running away. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. *Juvenile returned home around 4:52am and got into a confrontation with his parent. Police were called and the juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Wednesday, November 26:

Priority calls only from 5:03am to 6:54am due to calls for service/staffing available.

  • 1:11am - Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to E. Main St for a trespassing complaint involving a 42-year-old male suspect. The suspect was given the opportunity to leave the premises but he refused. The suspect was arrested for trespass after notification.
  • 2:31am - Midtown – Disturbance:  Homeowner called to report waking up to loud banging at their front door. The homeowner observed two unknown male subjects with masks on punching, kicking, and actively trying to break in.  The homeowner yelled out that they were calling the police. The subjects fled. The door to the residence sustained significant damage. Investigation continuing. 
  • 4:50am - East – Check Area: Officers responded to the 4500 block of Cottage Grove Rd for multiple reports of shots fired. Numerous bullet holes struck an occupied residential building. Investigation continuing.
