The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on November 26 to 6:00am on November 27, we received 381 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 62
  • East: 78
  • Midtown: 65
  • North: 57
  • South: 51
  • West: 63
  • Other: 5

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, November 26:

Priority calls only from 7:41pm to 8:16pm due to calls for service/staffing available.

  • 9:29am – East – Check Person: Caller reported an unknown person was at their door with a gun. The caller was not on scene when officers arrived. Nothing of concern was identified. The caller’s mother was contacted who expressed concern for their child’s (adult) mental health.
  • 12:12pm – Central – Armed Robbery: Caller reported their friend was robbed the previous night on State St. The victim sustained visible injuries and was conveyed to a local hospital for treatment. The victim reported having several personal items taken from them during the robbery. Investigation continuing. 
  • 12:54pm – West – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who was asking convenience store personnel for help. Subject left in a vehicle prior to police arrival. The vehicle associated with the subject was observed and a traffic stop was conducted. The vehicle was occupied by two subjects (38-year-old female and 45-year-old male). K9 alerted on the vehicle. Search yielded cannabis and drug paraphernalia. The male subject was arrested on a probation hold. The female subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant.  
  • 5:21pm – West – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a report of a 3-vehicle crash (S. Pleasant View Rd/Mid Town Rd). No injuries were reported. A 26-year-old female driver/suspect was found to be under the influence. The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).
  • 6:21pm – Central – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a 41-year-old male driver/suspect intentionally ramming another vehicle on Brearly St. The driver attempted to flee on foot but was detained by officers. The suspect was found to have sideswiped a parked vehicle which pushed another vehicle into a terrace which rear-ended a third vehicle. The suspect was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense).
  • 9:31pm – West – Retail Theft: Officers responded to a business for a report of a retail theft involving a 30-year-old male suspect. The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended by officers. The subject was arrested for retail theft and resisting. The suspect also had probable cause for another retail theft incident.
  • 10:15pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a 58-year-old male suspect in a vehicle in a private parking lot touching himself. The suspect had their pants down when officers made contact. The vehicle was searched and officers located binoculars and other materials. The suspect was parked in front of a window where a female subject lived. The suspect was arrested for invasion of privacy, disorderly conduct, lewd/lascivious behavior, and issued a citation for municipal trespassing.

Thursday, November 27:

Priority calls only started at 3:14am and remain on priorities at the time of this writing (due to calls for service/staffing available).

  • 1:26am – West – Child Abuse: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a minor and a 49-year-old male suspect. The victim reported being strangled, pushed, and dragged by their hair by the suspect. The victim was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation/treatment. Probable cause was developed to charge/arrest the suspect. Contact was made with the suspect via phone. The suspect was advised of his charges. The suspect refused to provide officers his location but stated he would turn himself in.
  • 4:19am – East – Traffic Arrest:  A traffic stop was conducted. A 38-year-old male passenger/suspect was found to have an outstanding warrant. The suspect attempted to flee on foot, but he was apprehended. The suspect was arrested for resisting and possession of heroin. The suspect had outstanding probable cause.
