The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on November 28 to 6:00am on December 1 we received 969 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 141
  • East: 191
  • Midtown: 171
  • North: 174
  • South: 110
  • West: 160
  • Other: 22

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Friday, November 28:

  • 5:40am – Midtown – Non-Residential Burglary: Officers responded to a business on Freeport Road after staff located broken glass all over. Several windows were found broken but no entry was determined to have occurred. Investigation continuing.
  • 7:51am – West – Assist MFD: Officers responded, along with MFD, to a report of a vehicle on fire on Kottke Dr. A vehicle was located fully engulfed. Fire extinguished. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 10:12am – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing 77-year-old female subject. Lifesaving measures were performed, but they were not successful. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 12:01pm – West – Retail Theft: Officers responded to the mall for a retail theft involving a 27-year-old male suspect. The suspect was taken into custody, despite him actively resisting. The subject was arrested for felony retail theft and resisting. The suspect had two outstanding warrants and probable cause for numerous retail theft incidents. Drug charges possibly forthcoming once results are returned on a white powder.
  • 3:43pm – Midtown – Crash: A 50-year-old male driver/suspect was observed driving through a parking lot at a high-rate of speed, crossing both lanes of Whitney Way where he struck a tree, hit a light pole and then hit a retaining wall. The suspect was processed for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense).
  • 4:42pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 13-year-old male suspect. The suspect was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center on charges of criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and resisting.
  • 7:45pm – West – Sexual Assault: A victim reported being sexually assaulted by a known acquaintance. Investigation continuing.
  • 11:01pm – East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing 42-year-old female subject. Lifesaving measures were performed, but were unfortunately not successful. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Decedent was heavily overweight, on numerous medications, and was a drug user. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

Saturday, November 29:

Priority calls only from 6:34pm to 7:30pm due to calls for service/staffing available.

  • 12:32am – Central – Battery: Officers responded to a battery involving a 22-year-old male suspect. The victim sustained injuries which required stitches. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, and substantial battery.
  • 6:41am – South – Adult Arrested Person: A 43-year-old male suspect, who refused to identify himself to officers a few weeks prior during a complaint of subject’s dumpster diving at a vacant property, was observed and contacted. The suspect was on the same vacant property. The suspect was identified and found to have outstanding warrants. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail.
  • 7:38am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 72-year-old male suspect. The suspect threatened to shoot another person and flipped a coffee table onto another person. The suspect was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 8:49am – West – Hit-and-Run/Crash: Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle hit-and-run vs. traffic standard at Mineral Point Rd/Gammon Rd. The vehicle involved was later located unoccupied. Traffic Engineering responded for the downed standard. Investigation continuing.
  • 11:28am – East – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. (GMC Acadia, black).
  • 2:07pm – Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 85-year-old female subject. Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 2:12pm – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the Beacon for a 32-year-old male suspect being violent and hollering. The suspect shoved two staff members. The suspect was taken into custody. The suspect resisted officers. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, and threats to law enforcement.
  • 8:36pm – West – Armed Robbery: Officers responded to a third-hand report about a possible robbery taking place in the 6700 block of Schroeder Rd. A subject was located bleeding from the head. The victim provided a statement about “some guys following” them into the area. An unknown male suspect struck the victim in the head and took their cell phone. A second involved person was contacted but they were less than cooperative with officers about what occurred. Investigation continuing.
  • 10:10pm – Central – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing 75-year-old male subject. The subject was determined to be deceased. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

Sunday, November 30:

  • 1:31am – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a motel for a 39-year-old male suspect refusing to leave the lobby/premises. The suspect was in the motel for several hours and had been drinking.  He left and returned.  He was told to leave by staff but he refused. The suspect was arrested for municipal trespassing.
  • 6:25am – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: A 61-year-old female suspect was on a property she is banned from. The suspect was arrested for violation the restraining order against her.
  • 9:06am – West – Adult Arrested Person: An 18-year-old male suspect was arrested for violating his probation. He was transported to jail.   
  • 12:13pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male suspect. The victim reported having their hair pulled, being pushed down, and being sexually assaulted by the suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic battery, disorderly conduct, and 2nd degree sexual assault.
  • 12:22pm – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (77-year-old male). Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 3:46pm – North – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 63-year-old male subject. Entry made to the residence. The subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner’s office responded. The home was described as a hoarder situation with alcohol containers lining the floors. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
  • 4:06pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 50-year-old male suspect. The suspect punched the victim in the head. The victim sustained visible injuries. The suspect was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
  • 9:05pm – South – Crash: A 63-year-old male driver struck a person that was getting into their vehicle that was parked on the street (Beld St). The subject sustained broken bones and was transported to a local hospital. The driver/suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (5th offense) and inattentive driving.

Monday, December 1:

  • 12am – East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a motel for a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (37-year-old male). The subject had been given Narcan before officers’ arrival and had regained consciousness. The subject/suspect would not identify himself to officers. He was transported to a local hospital/clinic where he refused treatment but also refused to leave the premises.  The suspect was arrested for unlawful trespassing. The suspect resisted officers. The suspect was identified and found to have an outstanding warrant. The suspect was transported to jail on charges of the outstanding warrant, resisting, and unlawful trespassing.
  • 12:33am – West – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Residence checked but the subject was not located. The subject went to a local hospital voluntarily. Local mental health resources plugged in. Safety plan developed. Officers disengaged.
