The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on October 15 to 6:00am on October 16, we received 401 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 63
  • East: 99
  • Midtown: 54
  • North: 59
  • South: 53
  • West: 65
  • Other: 8

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 8:06pm to 11pm due to calls for service.

Notable calls

Wednesday, October 15:

  • 9:07am - Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (63-year-old female). Subject deemed to be beyond help. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.  
  • 10:57am - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
  • 1:06pm - Central – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (43-year-old male). Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
  • 3:42pm - East – Threats Complaint: A 23-year-old male subject was unhappy with a carwash he received and made threats to the business/employees.  The subject was no longer on scene. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
  • 3:44pm - East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to the mall after security asked a 55-year-old male subject to leave the premises and he refused. Officers attempted to convince the subject to leave the premises but he continued to refuse. The subject was arrested for trespass after notification and also an outstanding probation/parole warrant.
  • 7:48pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 56-year-old male subject. The subject was reportedly heavily intoxicated and threatening another person in the home. Officers observed the subject in the back of the home and gave verbal commands, to which the subject ignored and retreated back into the residence. A gun was reported to be in the home. Attempts made to dialogue with the subject were unsuccessful.  A safe place was secured for the other person in the home for the evening.      Decision was made to disengage from the home at this time. Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the subject with numerous charges.
  • 10:10pm – Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male subject. The two subjects have a child in common and have a history of disturbances. The male subject was able to get into the victim’s apartment complex. The victim opened her door and the male subject entered her residence, destroyed property and threatened the victim. The subject fled the residence. Officers located the subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

Thursday, October 16:

  • 1:02am - Midtown – Check Area: Caller reported 2 male subjects running through back yards checking vehicle and home doors (Black Oak Dr/Lewon Dr). Officers observed 2 male subjects wearing face masks and gloves riding bikes in the area. Officers attempted contact but both subjects fled on their bikes. An 18-year-old male subject ditched their bike, ran through yards and jumped fences. Perimeter set up. The other subject’s bike, a shoe and a handgun with an extended magazine were located. The 18-year-old male subject was apprehended and arrested for resisting. Areas canvassed for the second subject (without success). Investigation continuing.
