Number of calls
From 6:00am on September 2 to 6:00am on September 3, we received 498 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 103
- East: 124
- Midtown: 76
- North: 71
- South: 46
- West: 61
- Other: 17
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Wednesday, September 2:
Priority calls only from 7:14am to 8:12am due to calls for service.
- 11:06am – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a suicidal subject. The subject's case worker, CARES, and MPD were on scene. The subject continued to make suicidal threats and made comments to officers that they should shoot him. The subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Final outcome pending.
- 3:45pm – Midtown – Damage to Property: A 49-year-old female subject asked the owner of a business for money. When the owner said no, the subject picked up 2 bricks and threw them through the windows of the business. The subject went to another business and threw another brick at a window, causing damage. The subject was arrested for felony criminal damage to property, misdemeanor criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct.
- 6:04pm – North – Child Neglect: Officers responded to calls concerning several young children being left home alone unsupervised. Officers made contact at the residence and located 4 children ranging in ages from 8 months to 4 years old alone. The infant had a soiled diaper. The living conditions were described as deplorable. The children's mom (25-year-old female) arrived home about an hour after officers were on scene. Child Protective Services responded. The mom has a history of child neglect. Probable cause developed to charge the mom with child neglect. Investigation continuing and final charging decisions pending.
- 7:52pm – North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (52-year-old male). Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded.
- 9:17pm – Central – Threats Complaint: A 57-year-old male subject, who is banned from State Street, was on State Street and threatened to blow up a business. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping, misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts), and threats to law enforcement (2 counts).
- 10:18pm – East – Sexual Assault: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault (suspect known to the victim). Investigation continuing.
- 10:26pm – West – Found Person: A 76-year-old female subject walked into a business and appeared to be confused and was asking for gas. Officers were dispatched to check the welfare of the subject. The subject was contacted and found to be the subject of a Silver Alert that was issued from another agency 20 minutes earlier. The subject was reunited with their family. Silver Alert cancelled.
10:53pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 22-year-old male subject. The subject was intoxicated and confronted his partner about text messages they sent to another person. A call note indicated that the subject was “going to start shooting" if police responded. Officers arrived on scene and observed the subject chasing the victim around. Officers went to try to detain the subject when he started to fight them/resist. The subject was armed with a gun and continued to fight with officers as they were trying to secure him and the weapon. The subject head-butted an officer and scratched another officer. Both officers obtained medical attention at a local hospital. The subject was detained and he continued to threaten them. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, resisting causing substantial injury, resisting causing soft tissue injury, battery to law enforcement, attempted battery to law enforcement, and carrying a concealed weapon.
