The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on September 21 to 6:00am on September 22, we received 475 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 81
  • East: 114
  • Midtown: 69  
  • North: 94
  • South: 45
  • West: 62
  • Other: 10

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Monday, September 21:

  • 6:09am – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention (supported).  Transport to Winnebago pending. 
  • 7:40am – Central – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (69-year-old female) after a family member located a suicide note.  The subject was located deceased at home. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 12:28pm – Midtown – Check Person: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. Subject medically admitted to the hospital. Officers disengaged and will be contacted when the subject is ready to be released (placement pending).
  • 4:03pm – South – Intoxicated Driver:  A driver (29-year-old male) was called in for almost hitting other drivers/vehicles and going 30mph on the beltline. The driver eventually pulled over on the beltline. The drier was contacted and found to be impaired. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
  • 6:27pm – East – Theft: A 61-year-old male subject was arrested for theft (bicycle) and misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • 9:25pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 52-year-old male subject who is a convicted sex offender and on 24/7 bracelet monitoring was arrested for possession of child pornography. Investigation continuing.  Additional charges may be forthcoming.
  • 9:56pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a 36-year-old male subject intoxicated and walking up to random people bothering them. The subject was arrested on a probation violation.
  • 11:21pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 48-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, an outstanding warrant, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
