The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on September 23 to 6:00am on September 24, we received 450 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

• East: 100
• Midtown: 57  
• North: 82
• South: 45
• West: 58
• Other: 10

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Wednesday, September 23:

Priority calls only from 10:08am to 12:19pm due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 5:34pm to 2:55am due to calls for service. 

• 5:29pm – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject having a mental health crisis.  An emergency detention was not supported at this time.  The subject was left in the care of medical staff and officers disengaged.
• 6:43am – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance. It was reported that a subject threw hot water on the victim while they were sleeping. The subject was said to have taken off on foot and may have a knife on them. Areas checked. Subject located/detained. Emergency detention sought. Probable cause developed to charge the subject as well. Placement pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago. 
• 7:54am – West – Arrested Juvenile: Officers were called to a residence for a juvenile (15-year-old male) refusing to go to school and having a warrant for their arrest. The juvenile was contacted and transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.  
• 10:17am – Central – Mental Health Conveyance: A subject, with a Chapter 51 return, was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. Placement pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago.  
• 12:59pm – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a possible emergency detention of a subject. Final outcome pending. *Emergency detention not supported. Officers disengaged.  
• 2:23pm – Central – Residential Burglary: Officers responded to a report of an unknown subject (22-year-old male) inside of a residence. The subject had showered, put on clothes belonging to a resident, and left. The subject was contacted and arrested for burglary repeater and felony bail jumping.
• 2:40pm – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check on a 26-year-old male subject who was laying under some trees at a business. EMS also responded. The subject became aggressive, threatened to kill the paramedics, and exposed himself. The subject was arrested for threats to a healthcare worker (2 counts), disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony bail jumping (2 counts).
• 6:29pm – West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a basketball court for a disturbance between several players. A 15-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and strangulation. A 13-year-old female subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
• 7:20pm – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a report of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted, placed into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital. Local placement identified for the subject.
• 9:04pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 50-year-old male subject. The subject attached his partner in a vehicle – biting and sexually assaulting them. The subject was not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to charge/arrest the subject, who remains at-large. *Subject located later in the evening. The subject was transported to a local hospital for a medical clearance and had to be admitted.  Charges forthcoming – battery, 2nd degree sexual assault, possession of cocaine.
• 10:43pm – Central – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject that was walking in/out of traffic (E. Washington Ave/N. Oak St). Another subject (34-year-old female), was observed falling face forward to the ground. The subject was not conscious or breathing. Naloxone administered which revived the subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital and left in the care of medical staff. The subject was left with order-in citations (drug-related charges).

Thursday, September 24:

• 3:05am – Central – Trespass: Officers responded to a trespassing complaint involving a 53-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and an outstanding warrant.
