Driver arrested for OWI after crash, driving against traffic

Officers were walking in the downtown area early Saturday morning when they observed a red truck driving against traffic.

They attempted to stop the driver, but he accelerated and the officers had to jump out of the way.

The driver took off going against traffic on Johnson Street causing vehicles to swerve to avoid being hit.

The truck ended up crashing into a building in the area of N. Bassett and W. Johnson Streets. A passenger suffered minor injuries. The driver walked away from the scene but was quickly taken into custody. He performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and was taken to the hospital for a blood draw.

Brandon S. Graham, 30, as arrested for second-offense OWI causing injury, reckless driving causing injury, eluding, hit and run and operating after revocation and failure to render aid to injured.

He was taken to the Dane County Jail.
