A motorcyclist, who a witness said was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control of the bike, hit a median and struck a traffic sign before being thrown from it.
Madison Police said the driver of the 8:13 a.m. accident today near the intersection of North Stoughton and Reider Roads was not wearing a helmet. The 44-year-old operator of the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. Police are determining whether alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
The case remains under investigation.
