Firearm recovered following fight on State Street

A gun was recovered following a fight on State Street early Sunday morning.

Officers were patrolling along the 500 block of State Street when they see a fight break out between a large group of teenagers and young adults.
One of those involved, sees officers and takes off running while holding onto his waistband.

Officers catch up with him along the 400 block of W. Gilman Street.
While there, the man yells “it's not mine" then pulls out a gun and tosses it to the ground.

Angel E. Castro, 20, of Madison, was arrested for possession of a machine gun, felony bail jumping, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon and going armed while intoxicated.

He was medically cleared at a local hospital before being taken to the Dane County Jail.

This is an ongoing and active investigation.
